An environmental education 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to change the world, one bee and one student at a time!
About us
OUR MISSION Planet Bee Foundation is on a mission to change the world -- one bee and one student at a time! We are dedicated to creating a green-minded generation by inspiring environmental stewardship through the power of individual action and the teaching lens of the struggling bee. We teach STEM lessons virually and in-person in schools and corporation with schools to build long lasting care of the bees and the environment. OUR VISION Planet Bee Foundation is dedicated to creating environmental stewards of all ages, who will go on to have a positive impact on our interconnected world. We understand that ethics and values are formed early in life, and therefore promote holistic approaches to education which include understanding the complexities of the natural world and the effect humans have on the Earth. We dream of an eco literate society with a higher concern for the greater good. When empathy and emotional intelligence are fostered and connections are drawn, it is more likely that positive actions will be taken. We hope our fellow educators around the world will work with us to create a more sustainable future. We envision a world in which all people feel empowered to take action for their planet, regardless of, race, gender, class or location. Through our work, students of all ages will develop a love for our planet and learn the importance of individual action in global movements, and will become more equipped to tackle environmental problems in the future.

🐝 We were buzzing to celebrate our annual honey harvest with students at Stanford University in Roble Hall Dormitory earlier this month! 🐝 Over 30 Stanford students harvested honey from the hives located on campus with the help of our educators and beekeepers. Participants learned how honey bees produce honey and even bottled honey to enjoy later! Students could also get up close with an observation frame of campus honeybees and learn the importance of honey bees and other bee species to our food chain and our local ecosystems. We are buzzing to highlight one of our un-bee-lievable partners, Cisco! We’ve worked with Cisco since 2023 and have enjoyed every second! Over the past 2 years, we’ve done some amazing things together: 🐝 Established a CISCO sponsored apiary at The Guadalupe River Park Conservancy in San Jose. These bee hives help promote the local flora at the park and are a public symbol of CISCO’s commitment to sustainability and conservation 🐝 Cisco’s hives at the park are used for corporate and community hive dives, where participants Suit up in bee suits with a PBF beekeeper to learn more about honey bee biology and hive dynamics. 🐝These Hive Dives have generated fundraising for both the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy and Planet Bee Foundation 🐝 Planet Bee Foundation tables at CISCO Sustainability Fairs and hosts Native Bee and Honey Bee workshops with CISCO offices locally. It’s partnerships with organizations like CISCO’s that help ensure our STEM programs are provided for free to schools and nonprofits, they help prevent any barrier to inclusion. Special thank you to CISCO for sponsoring our STEM education programs. #nonprofit #partnerships #supportbees #supportpollinators #bees #nativebees #protectbees #learnaboutbees

We are buzzing to highlight one of our un-bee-lievable partners, Google, who just happens to be our very first corporate partner! Over the past 14 years, we’ve done some amazing things together: 🐝 Helped them form their Googlers Bee Club - which is still doing amazing work today! 🐝 Set up four apiaries on their Google HQ campus 🐝 Each year, we do a large honey harvest (each harvest is roughly 300 lbs) with over 500+ Googles attending 🐝 We currently partner with their Farm to Table department AND their Bee Club 🐝 Over the years, we’ve given virtual team-building workshops to Googlers around the world - this includes honey-tasting workshops AND native bee nest-building workshops 🐝 We’ve also done hive dives with various teams at HQ, including the Bee Club, Google School of Leaders, Google Kids and Family Team 🐝 We’ve also hosted our educational tabling program at Google’s DEI fairs and other events! It’s partnerships like these that help ensure our STEM programs are provided for free to schools and nonprofits, they help prevent any barrier to inclusion. Special thank you to Google for sponsoring our STEM education programs. It’s been an incredible 14 years. #nonprofit #protectpollinators #partners #bees
