In 2023, nonprofit hospitals and health systems had an average of fewer than 200 days of cash on hand, the lowest level in a decade. A recent S&P Global Ratings report attributed that to inflation and limited strengthening of reserves but noted that systems increased capital spending, with some taking on new debt. Median operating margins ranged from 2.5% to -2.7%. We help healthcare organizations improve their revenue cycle operations to improve financial processes, maximize revenue, reduce denials, increase point-of-service collections and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
