About us
Pillen Family Farms is a multi-generational Nebraska-based family agribusiness company. Our daily commitment is to produce high-quality pork while protecting the environment and promoting animal welfare. Many factors contribute to the success of our farms, however, our people are the key. Our farms are composed of high value people who are committed to our core principles: 1) Do what is right. 2) Do the best you can. 3) Treat others the way you want to be treated. Our farms support local economies and annually purchase 14 million bushels of corn out of the field and from cooperatives. If planted in a twelve row strip, this would be enough corn to make over a complete circle around the globe. Annually, we produce enough pork to feed over 13 million people.

Part of being a local family-owned business is giving back to the communities where we work and live. This past weekend, we partnered with the Howard County Medical Center to help support their annual golf tournament. All proceeds from the event went to their new Wellness Center project. Congratulations to Martin Martinez for winning our 2024 “Do What is Right” award! Martin is a Site Leader at multiple finishers. Over the years, he has won several production awards, which is a testament to his commitment to always Doing What is Right. He takes ownership of his sites and works hard to meet the needs of his pigs. You will never see Martin without a smile. He pushes his coworkers to stay busy on high value farm needs and makes sure all the needs of his pigs are met 24/7. He wants to be the person to answer an alarm, show others the best way to sort and load pigs and show teammates the correct treatment and medication protocols. Martin loves his career and has been known to say, "Barns are my happy place." We can always count on Martin to do what is right, do the best he can and treat others how he wants to be treated. Congratulations, Martin!
