Where do you stand? NDAA compliance is a hot topic in drone and sensor technology, especially for state and federal projects. While NDAA-compliant LiDAR systems meet strict security standards, they come with higher costs. Non-NDAA systems offer similar performance at a lower price, but without the same compliance assurances. So, is NDAA compliance a must-have or just nice to have? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts! #LoveLiDAR #NDAA #NDAAcompliance

Ready to choose sides again? We want to hear your opinion... Are you a single channel LiDAR loyalist? Single Channel Systems – ✅ Increased range & higher accuracy ✅ cleaner data but longer collection times ✅ ideal for detailed surveys in complex settings OR... a multi-channel LiDAR enthusiast? Multi-Channel Systems – ✅ Higher density point clouds ✅ faster collection time ✅ often more affordable From large-scale, high-speed data acquisition to precision-focused surveys, understanding these distinctions can guide you toward the best-fit solution. Each type has its champions, but which one is right for you? Let us know... Check out our poll, cast your vote, and see where others in the field stand! #LoveLiDAR #AerialLiDAR #SingleChannelLiDAR #MultiChannelLiDAR #GIS

If you only vote once today... ...then skip this post and go get in line. 🤪🗽 When you're done - weigh in on this grudge match. When it comes to LiDAR processing, there's two camps: Simplicity - trade control for ease of use with one button push software that anyone can run but with almost no control over your workflow... Or.... Control - a complex software that gives you full control but you own the process, which opens the gates to user error and requires a specialist to operate. We wanna hear your thoughts! Weigh in on the debate and see what your colleagues think on our poll.

We joined the Summit Services Group, LLC in Grand Junction, Colorado for two action-packed days of hands on training on the Recon-XT, paired with the Freefly Systems Astro. After the hardware training, our team also dived into a remote session on LiDARMill to help the Summit Services Team hit the ground running with data processing from day one. By investing in advanced LiDAR technology, they’re staying ahead of the competition and ready to deliver even greater value to their customers. We’re looking forward to seeing how you put these tools to work and supporting your journey ahead. #LoveLiDAR #LiDARtraining #RemoteSensing #SurveySolutions

Tech Tip! Differential GNSS & Precise Point Positioning The accuracy of GNSS positions along a trajectory can be improved during post processing through a variety of methods including differential GNSS (DGNSS), and precise point positioning (PPP). These corrections can be applied during post processing and are not required in real time. Utilizing differential GNSS requires a reference, or base, station that is collecting observations at a fixed location during the mission. The base station can determine the distance, or range, between itself and GNSS satellites in view. "The base station compares the surveyed position to the position calculated from the satellite ranges...The base station uses the difference between the calculated and surveyed position to generate a correction message which it sends to other receivers (i.e. the rover)" (Jeffrey, 2010). The trajectory being processed receives these corrections and improves its positional accuracy, mitigating errors caused by atmospheric delays and satellite and clock errors. Precise point positioning (PPP) uses a ground network of base stations to provide corrections, which means the user does not need to have a reference station file of their own. The GNSS satellites send positional information to this ground control network, which then upload that correction information to a network control center. These corrections can then be sent to the end user to use in trajectory processing. PPP solutions "require a period of time to converge to full accuracy in order to resolve any local errors such as atmospheric errors, multipath and receiver biases" (Jeffrey, 2010). Jeffrey, C. (2010). An Introduction to GNSS: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and other Global Navigation Satellite Systems. NovAtel. #LoveLiDAR #LiDARprocessing #GNSS #DifferentialGNSS #PrecisePointPositioning

Customer Spotlight: Flexibility & Support from Phoenix to Finland We had the pleasure of catching up with one of our international customers, Vitomittaus Oy, a leading surveying company in Finland. The Vitomittaus team chose the RANGER-Ultra for its flexibility in transitioning between helicopter and UAV applications. Heikki shared how despite the different time zones, communicating with our support team has been fast and reliable, as he knows almost everyone on our support team. Thank you Heikki for taking the time to share about your experience working with Phoenix LiDAR! #LoveLiDAR #CustomerSpotlight #SurveySolutions #LiDARsolutions
