Phoenix takes pride in working with our clients to ensure compliance with Title VI of Civil Rights Act, CLAS standards, and The Joint Commission recommendations. We value the opportunity to enhance communication between our clients and the ASL and limited-English proficient populations, while assisting our clients in meeting their service needs. As we come together to honor a rich and vibrant culture and celebrate Juneteenth, the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, we also recognize the vital role that language access plays in preserving and elevating this remarkable culture. It serves as a bridge, connecting diverse communities and amplifying those voices and allowing us to appreciate the beauty and significance of African American languages, dialects, and expressions. By embracing language access, we ensure that African American stories, traditions, and contributions are accessible to all, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of this extraordinary culture. Happy Juneteenth!

J. Nicole Martin Lawton embodies the strength and determination of her father, William ("Bill") Rafael Martin, who was Cuban. His parents were Cuban immigrants who arrived in the US from Cuba in the 1940s. Bill spent spent some time living in Cuba as a young boy, experiencing its culture firsthand. Years later, upon returning to the US, he realized that language was not only essential for the success of his business, Phoenix Language Services, Inc., but also became a lifelong mission focused on communication. In this narrative, Nicole shares how this purpose connected her with personal experiences and her father's legacy, understanding the necessity for many, like her grandmother, to communicate in their native tongue. It's evident that the Cuban culture influenced her leadership style, blending elements of both Latino and American cultures, given her father's Cuban background and upbringing in the United States. The story introduces us to a founder deeply committed to his mission, building a profitable and successful company, but above all, one with purpose, serving hundreds in their most critical moments. Since 2020, Nicole has taken the reins of the company, bringing with her experience from previous profession that always maintained a connection to her roots. Now, Nicole leads with the purpose of continuing to impact tens of thousands of people.
