Are you preparing your employees for the impact of #GenAI in the workplace? According to SHRM's 2024 Annual Employee Benefits Survey, 65% of employers consider professional development to be "very important" or "extremely important." SHRM's AI in the Workplace research underscores this, revealing that 83% of HR leaders stress the importance of upskilling in an AI-driven job market. U.S. workers broadly concur: 🔹 51% believe #AI will transform existing jobs rather than replace them. 🔹 76% view upskilling as essential to remaining competitive. How does your company keep your remote workers engaged, energized, and focused?!
The rise of AI and remote work offers flexibility but can also lead to increased feelings of loneliness among employees. New studies have shown that these feelings can have severe consequences, including higher rates of alcohol consumption and insomnia, and even increased mortality rates. To combat this, employers need to take proactive steps: 🔹 Boost overall employee engagement to reduce loneliness—engaged employees are 64% less likely to report feeling lonely. 🔹 Encourage personal connections between team members through apps like Donut, mentoring, and onboarding programs. 🔹 Host regular offsite events to foster trust and stronger connections among employees. 🔹 Promote a culture that values social interaction, even in remote settings. Additionally, using AI to enhance worker autonomy and provide meaningful tasks can significantly improve mental health. Implement these strategies to ensure a happier, healthier, and more connected workforce. The Philly SHRM Thought Leadership Program was designed to create an outlet for human resource related content that is of value to HR practitioners as well as the business and education communities in the Philadelphia area. We are currently seeking written contributions—articles, blogs, interviews, Q&A—that enhance PSHRM’s position on key human resource topics. You write and the Thought Leadership Committee does the rest–providing resources for editing, legal review, and relationship management with target publishers. How many of your employees’ personal challenges are going unseen? You won’t know unless you ask. The caregivers who make up 73% of the workforce might not proactively share their struggles in balancing work and life responsibilities—but supporting those struggles starts with understanding them. To help you, we’ve created a detailed survey to give you detailed insights on what your employees actually need here --> https://hubs.li/Q02GmWW20. Personalize and share this survey with your team. Get their input. If there’s a gap between what your benefits currently offer and what would make their lives easier—we’re here to help you bridge it.

Getting a job requires job experience (one of the most frustrating realities IMO)... so why aren't we taking advantage of apprenticeships as a highly sought-after source of talent? If you haven't explored this crucial pool of talent, take a listen to Philly SHRM's HR Fresh Take podcast episode, "Apprenticeships: A Talent Strategy for HR". I appreciated the new ideas and methods shared by guests Haniyyah B. Sharpe-Brown and Jessica Randall to help us create and leverage apprenticeship programs that source the amazing talent we need in our organizations. Shoutout to our fellow producer Kena Sears, MBA for facilitating a fantastic discussion. So what else do you really have to listen to on your drive down to the shore this weekend?
