Today, PACE Community Food Bank began our grocery delivery program to help our elderly community members who are unable to receive services from our Food Bank. This pilot program is funded by a grant from the Association of Aged Women in New Bedford, and in partnership with local transportation company, Yes We Van.

Today we launched our new, enhanced first-time homebuyer program using ARPA funds. The program provides up to $35,000 in down payment, closing costs, and interest rate buy-down assistance, and has a repair assistance component as well. The program can be combined with our existing $10,000 program for those at lower income levels, or those offered by MassHousing or other entities. It is very difficult for those starting out to find a home in this market. This program helps New Bedford residents to be competitive in the market and achieve their dreams of homeownership in an affordable way. Importantly, the rental units occupied by those residents will become available in a tight rental market, too. This morning, Executive Director of PACE, INC, Pam Kuechler accepted the City of New Bedford Human Rights Commission - Human Rights Award at the Annual Human Rights Day breakfast. The Commission stated that "PACE, Inc. continues to fulfill a very important human right need, Article 25- The right to adequate living standard. You and members of your team are always willing to go the extra mile for an individual or family in need and we live in a community where the need is great.
