The Patient Safety Movement Foundation is pleased to announce that the Biden Administration is planning to institute many of the recommendations of the PCAST Committee submitted last September. In honor of World Patient Safety Day, the Biden-Harris Administration has announced decisive actions to advance both patient and workforce safety within our healthcare system. On September 17th, the White House brought together leaders from health organizations, patient and workforce advocates, healthcare executives, and key administration officials to discuss implementing the recommendations from the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) report, "A Transformational Effort on Patient Safety." Federal agencies and stakeholders across sectors also unveiled initiatives to drive meaningful progress toward these critical priorities. https://rb.gy/sendra

Today is #WorldPatientSafetyDay, and it’s my honor to speak at the White House Safety Forum about reducing harm across the #healthcare system. We have evidence-based practices that can help us address problems like medication error and opioid overdose, and it’s critically important that we continue collaborating across industries and sharing data to work towards the goal of zero preventable patient deaths. Thank you to the Biden Administration providing a key opportunity to discuss the progress we’ve made with #patientsafety.
