Tom, affectionately known as "Mr. Recreation," devoted an impressive 38 years to the City of Palo Alto as a Recreation Supervisor, leaving an enduring mark on the community. His wife Lolly has this to say,
“Tom was not about a corporate job. He always wanted to be involved - to help people.”
As an enthusiastic leader, Tom painted life with the broad, youthful strokes of kindness and love for his peers.
When Parkinson's Disease presented challenges, Tom faced them with unwavering resilience, continuing his passion for travel and enthusiasm for his volunteering positions. During those last days, Pathways was trusted to care for Tom in the home where he and Lolly raised their three children. Pathways’ hospice care team provided a bedrock of support and compassion for Tom and for his family during a time of shock and grief.
“I was very happy Tom’s last wishes were met from Pathways,” Lolly says. “They took good care of him, and for that I am grateful.”
We share this story with you because all of us strive for a life well lived. After we are gone, we hope the beauty within it continues on in many ways.
