If you get a chance, check out the World Tumor Registry, a comprehensive, searchable, open-access catalog of digital microscopic images of human cancer types and subtypes. The WTR was founded in 2021 by Yuri Nikiforov, Professor of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to help minimize diagnostic errors, eliminate inequality in cancer recognition, diagnosis, and treatment in diverse populations, and improve patient outcomes. As cancer diagnosis becomes more complex and specialized, patients are increasingly seeking second opinion consultations from a limited number of experts sitting at various locations around the world.
