I help mid-career tech leaders avoid career path paralysis and define their "what's next" | Former $4M full-desk NYC agency recruiter | Lifelong backpacker 🥾

Want to know how to stand out as a career coach? Stop kicking job seekers while they're down. Why kindness is the greatest gift of all. ↓ Let's talk about the key to transforming our industry: ➝ It's by creating a culture of respect and empathy The LinkedIn branding bros want you to be edgy. — Insist the lack of offers means a lack of effort. — Pushing boldness over their challenges. — Use tough love and "no excuses." But trust me, compassion has a greater impact. And here's the best part... — No need to be overly sentimental to show you care. — Compassion is like a secret weapon in disguise. — And it's more than just about being friendly. I think it has a lot to do with understanding: — Your clients' unique circumstances. — Their own personal experiences. — Even their fears and doubts. Being compassionate opens a window into your heart. You're inviting them to connect on a deeper level. Whatever it is, people need your support. So, why not embrace empathy? — Start by actively listening. — Offer sincere encouragement. — Embrace empathy in your content. — Share your own job search struggles. Remember, compassion has immense influence. It can inspire confidence, build trust, and lower walls. And showing it regularly can build credibility. In fact, you might also discover: — Increased client loyalty. — Better working relationships. — Deeper connections with clients. — Fulfillment and professional growth. — Considerable increase in client referrals. The secret to having others trust you? Showing you genuinely care. ——— ❗️ The job market's brutal, stop poking the bear ♻️ Consider sharing to inspire others in our field

The ultimate goal of personal branding in a job search? Becoming the ONLY candidate. — Not a candidate. — Not another candidate. — Not one of 100 candidates. The ONLY candidate. One that hiring managers choose... Again and Again and Again. Think about it this way. Being the ONLY candidate means recruiters look PAST other applicants on their way to get to you. — They see the competition. — They know others have the skills. — They understand others can do the job. But they choose YOU. If you're not getting interviews... YOUR. PERSONAL. BRAND. IS. BROKEN. The best way to become the only candidate? — Acknowledge your unique value. — Communicate it in your resume/LinkedIn. — Ignore every distraction and maintain your focus. That's what successful job seekers do. And they land interviews. Go figure. DM me "clarity" if you're tired of being overlooked.

99% of job seekers struggle with what's next. The so-called experts sell you on: — "Just keep applying." — "It's a numbers game." — "Broaden your job search." — "You need a fancier resume." — "More certifications are the key." But this advice comes with: — Career stalls. — Increased frustration. — Diminished self-confidence. — Wasted effort on mass applications. — Missed opportunities for meaningful roles. It creates a false-positive because: — You get lots of "views" but no interviews. — You get "likes" from comments but no offers. — You get "connections" but no genuine network. Career progression isn't based on these things. Left unchecked, it leads to damaging results: — Learning that your strategy is unclear. — Realizing you're using the wrong approach. — Recognizing you're not utilizing your strengths. And then the penny drops: — It was essential to determine your "what's next." — Perfecting your personal brand was crucial. — Intentional engagement was necessary. — Demonstrating your value was vital. Because doing this from day 1 results in: ➝ Interviews for roles you actually want. ➝ Connections that can open doors. ➝ A career path that excites you. Let's take a beat—here's the bright side: — Finding clarity in your career goals. — Finding a role that meets your needs. — Gaining the courage to follow your heart. — Building a network that supports your growth. — Finding job satisfaction and a sense of purpose. It's time to transform your career path. DM me "clarity" if you feel lost in your job search.

Ageism is a silent killer in today’s job market. And it’s hitting older workers hard. The irony? These are the same people who’ve navigated crises, led teams, and driven results for decades. But when layoffs hit—who gets cut first? It’s not the young up-and-comers. It’s the experienced professionals who’ve given 20, 30, or even 40+ years to their careers. It’s crowded at the top, sure. But when companies are making tough decisions, why is it the most experienced that are expendable? Here’s the thing no one talks about: — Many are pressured to work into their 60s and 70s — Times have changed, but what about hiring? — The process is trapped in the past We can't afford to overlook the advantages that more senior professionals bring to the table anymore. — They’ve weathered crises (remember 2008?) — They understand how to get results in any setting — They’ve led many teams through growth and failure The businesses that wake up and rethink how they treat experienced workers? They’ll be the ones who stay competitive, especially when the next crisis hits. So who's actually hiring across all levels of expertise? Who sees experience as a strength and not a liability? Maybe it's me, but I think it's time we started to: — Name companies that are breaking the cycle — Recognize those who embrace talent at any age — Share our stories of being cut, laid off, or forgotten It's time we bring this conversation out into the open. Because staying silent? It's killing careers. ——— ❓ Have you experienced ageism in your career? ♻️ Consider sharing this to help others feel seen.

I help mid-career tech leaders avoid career path paralysis and define their "what's next" | Former $4M full-desk NYC agency recruiter | Lifelong backpacker 🥾

I've worked with hundreds of mid-career job seekers, And they always tend to need 3 things: 1) A clear direction for their next role 2) A clear message that speaks to recruiters 3) A clear purpose behind their networking strategy They say: "I don't want to spend months deciding what's next." "I need a job that aligns with my skills and goals." "I don't need 500 contacts, just 5 good ones." I see you. Landing a new role or switching industries is great. So is getting those "let's talk!" recruiter messages. But unless you have clarity on what you want next. It can be a lot of time and stress without progress. First things first: Be honest about "what's next." It might not be glamorous, but defining your clarity is more valuable than doom-scrolling job boards, right? So here's your process for now: 1) Reflect deeply on what truly energizes you 2) Network with folks already in the role you want 3) Get clear on the type of career you want to pursue And that last part matters most at the start. Honestly, most advice from LinkedIn will likely help. But stick to the fundamentals first: — Gain clarity on your path — Have meaningful conversations — Most importantly, don't get distracted Here's to your first career clarity win! ——— ✍️ What’s been your key to finding career clarity? ♻️ Share to help others take the right step forward.

16 signs your job search needs a focused strategy: — you feel totally invisible to recruiters — you aren’t landing any job interviews — your resume is getting lost in the ATS — your network isn’t providing any leads — you don’t know which sectors to target — you don’t know which skills to showcase — you aren’t hearing back from applications — the interviews you get don’t lead to offers — you feel lost about how to market yourself — your messaging is unclear across platforms — you’re drowning in conflicting career advice — you struggle to know which roles to apply for — your LinkedIn profile doesn’t get any attention — your resume doesn’t match your LinkedIn page — you can’t seem to connect with hiring managers — you’ve been job hunting for months but no results If any of those are true of your search... ...then a focused strategy is the answer. Not a new career path. Not just more networking. Not applying for more jobs. Not a better resume template. Not endless LinkedIn comments. Not another dumb job search hack. Fix the REAL issue. And everything else will fall into place. Or, you know, keep sending resumes without a plan. Maybe this next one will be different. (Spoiler: it won’t) DM me "clarity" if you're ready to regain your focus.

Notice how many claim to have been "featured in Forbes" or "contacted by Fortune"? I hate to break it to you—most of it's bullshit. Job seekers especially are getting misled, thinking this made-up success is the real deal. One coach claimed Fortune had approached them. The reality? Not even close. They were approached by someone at Featured, offering the chance to be profiled in Fortune Mag. The kicker? This isn't an isolated case. It's wild how many folks on LinkedIn pay for exposure and then claim they were approached directly. Forbes Council? Pay-to-play. Fortune Connect? Same thing. Fast Company. Entrepreneur. On it goes. When you see "Featured in Forbes," there's a good chance it's not a genuine feature at all. It's more than likely "Forbes Council"—a platform you can join if you're willing to drop some pennies for it. So how do we verify the truth from the bullshit? It starts with asking questions. If a claim sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Check for disclaimers. Dig into whether the publication produced that article—or if it's a paid feature under a different source. The last thing we need is more fake gurus clogging your feed with their bought "thought leadership." ——— ✍️ What's more important—trust earned or bought? ♻️ Reshare and help keep the conversation honest.

Burnout is a sneaky little bast*rd. It creeps up on you: Disguised as "being productive" or "getting ahead." But then one day, you wake up and realize you've been running on empty for far too bloody long. I've been there. And let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. The turning point? I made "no" my default. That's right. That tiny, two-letter word saved me from myself. At first, it was awkward—saying "no" felt like I was letting people down or missing out on opportunities. But the time I gained back was phenomenal. I started feeling lighter—more in control. What's more, here's the kicker: People respected me for it. It taught me something valuable: You don't have to say yes to everything... ...if you want to be respected or appreciated. In fact, saying "no" might just earn more respect. So now, I'm a big advocate for using "no" more often: — No to stuff that doesn't fit my values or goals — No to work I don't have the tolerance for — No to meetings that can be an email The time I've reclaimed? Priceless. The stress I've shed? Unbelievable. ——— ❓ What’s one thing you've said "no" to recently? ♻️ Share to inspire others to prioritize what matters
