Did you know? Buildings can have up to a million I/O points, which makes them impractical to optimize using current building technology. To enable autonomous building control, PassiveLogic had to invent a new foundational technology capable of handling the sheer compute and complexity needed. Our solution? Utilize heterogeneous neural networks for our AI computations. This industry-first enables an introspectable and composable AI framework that’s not only efficient but also trained on the laws of physics. Because of this, our approach differs in five distinct ways: ✏️ No training data required  ⏰ No training time needed 📥 No overfitting 💭 No hallucinations 🔦 No black boxes So, what exactly is a heterogenous neural network? Check out this blog where we break it down. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gZVF8-qQ #AI #AItraining #passivelogic #DifferentiableSwift

What if you could have super-fast #AI processing that slashes power consumption by 99%? ⚡️🌱 #PassiveLogic's updates to the Differentiable #Swift compiler have set a new energy efficiency precedent, surpassing industry standards. Differentiable Swift performed: ⚡️ 992x more efficiently than Google’s #TensorFlow ⚡️ 4,948x more efficiently than Meta’s #PyTorch AI is the defining technology of this decade, but it comes with steep energy costs. International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts that global data center electricity consumption will reach 1,000 TWh by 2026—equivalent to the annual energy consumption of Japan. This unsustainable trajectory threatens both technological progress and our planet. PassiveLogic’s Differentiable Swift updates provide the first industry solution to both challenges. There is a huge gulf between automation and autonomy. Autonomy may be new to the built environment, but it is conceptually simple to understand. Does your Ford pickup have a control loop that automates its timing, injection, and air flow? Yes. That’s just like a traditional BMS. Static control code, written manually by a person sometime in the past that continues to run indefinitely. That is automation. Will it drive itself to its destination? No. That requires autonomy—the ability of a system to take in new information in real time and adjust its path. So in this example, that basic control does not make something autonomous. The same is true for BMS. Autonomy isn’t just the lack of a person watching the pot boil. Buildings are no different than cars. The autonomous technology stack behind both markets share many similar underpinnings – with the exception that the control of buildings is far more diverse and complex. Yet today’s low-level BMS automation, like the engine controller, just maintains the bare minimum of basic control loops. Can your building dynamically write its own sequences in real time to get to its control destination? No. Can a BMS even perceive the higher order systems interactions between energy consumption, energy storage, production, HVAC, and operational logic? No. Can it track an asset throughout your portfolio? No. Can it commission itself. No. Can it set itself up, and program itself? No. Can it create its own real-time dynamic sequences of operation. No? Then it is not autonomous. Autonomy isn’t just more optimal automation. The world of autonomy is a GIANT superset of automation. Tesla can have vehicles. PassiveLogic is taking on everything else. I chatted with Brian Collins earlier this year who did a good job of laying this out from an in article in AutomatedBuildings.
