American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) 2024 Emerging Tech Panel was a great success thanks to moderator Walter Bleser II, PE and my fellow panelist Dustin Lange of Norfolk Southern. We received many more questions from the audience than we could answer. Parallel Systems will be answering the rest on this page in the coming days. Parallel's presentation concluded with this video, the first public release of three-vehicle platoon operations. It's sped up, but reveals orchestration we've achieved to accomplish platoon formation and separation.

With valuable knowledge in hand from testing at MxV Rail, Parallel recently welcomed #3 home to California to join its mates. Here's a timelapse of our testing team unloading it at the test track. 1 of 2: Parallel Systems has been keeping busy as we await an FRA decision on our partner Genesee & Wyoming Inc.’s mainline testing petition. Here’s brief footage from the testing of prototype vehicle #3 at MxV Rail’s new test track in Pueblo, CO. At MxV, we were able to operate at higher speeds and in more varied weather than at our California test site. With valuable knowledge in hand, Parallel recently welcomed #3 home to California to join its mates. New footage will be released shortly showing advances in platooning including orchestration of platoon formation and separation. Watch this space!

Parallel Systems congratulates Arc Infrastructure on its Kenwick IMT being named a finalist in the Rail Freight Excellence category of the 2024 ARI Awards. We look forward to Kenwick’s opening and the freight rail growth it will bring. Kenwick and nearby mainlines will shortly host tests of Parallel’s technology.
