We are delighted to see the New York Times feature the talented artists who enhanced two of our Austin, Texas projects – Indeed Tower and 1121 at Symphony Square – with such outstanding works of art. Kudos to Emily Eisenhart and J Muzacz!    At Page, we are passionate about integrating art and artisans into our design approach. At Symphony Square, for example, working with Greystar, Ivanhoé Cambridge, and our art consultant Art + Artisans Consulting, we created a program for integrated art and architecture that viewed every surface as an opportunity to elevate the human condition with art in a tactile and immersive way. From the Page-designed area rugs (envisioned as lush paintings) and ceiling sculpture (fabricated by Warbach) that evokes the movement of the local music scene, to the large-scale mural and three-dimensional wall installations, the artists we collaborated with – including Soo Sunny Park who created the multi-colored glass "cloud" – worked with us to layer their personal visions and craft with the lush botanical and artful vibe of this co-work meets lobby space.   With Welsh conceptual artist Cerith Wyn Evans’ showstopping neon light sculpture, art reached thrilling heights in the lobby of our Indeed Tower project, where we worked with both Trammell Crow Company and Kilroy Realty Corporation to increase the visitor engagement at this highly visible block of downtown Austin .   Many artists, from world-renowned to locally-grown, contribute to our projects across diverse building types and around the globe. We’re honored to work with clients who appreciate the impact of art in how the built environment is experienced.   Read yesterday's New York Times article: https://lnkd.in/d9UieU_d   #CerithWynEvans #artandarchitecture #design #architecture   Photography: Albert Vecerka/Esto and Chase Daniel

Intermountain Health's Primary Children's Hospital at the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi, Utah, is enhancing pediatric healthcare in the Intermountain West, allowing families to access a full-service children's hospital closer to home. The new children’s hospital, which provides nearly all the services available at Intermountain's Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, is designed to serve family and community needs in Utah County, one of the five fastest-growing areas of the country, known as “Silicon Slopes.” With Primary Children’s guiding philosophy of “The Child First and Always,” the Miller Family Campus expansion is a critical element of Primary Promise, a comprehensive initiative to build the nation’s model healthcare system for children. Page is honored to have supported our client in this initiative, and in this article, Page Technical Director Moses Waindi, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, and Senior Experiential Graphics Designer Brandon Allen share highlights of our work: https://bit.ly/4g4udJC #CuratingCare #HospitalDesign #HealthcareArchitecture

“At Page, our approach to creating office environments for our clients is visible in how we design for ourselves”, says Page Lead Interior Designer Linda Rodts. “In transforming our new workspace in downtown Boston, our team conceived layouts, materials, and elements that would not just support functionality and productivity, but also inspire staff to collaborate, connect, and enjoy working together in new ways. “Designing workspaces that attract and help retain staff is a top priority for business leaders. We know, for example, that integrating natural elements into the workplace positively influences employee performance and wellbeing. “Our goal is to design spaces that spark creativity and camaraderie. To cultivate those aspects in our Boston office, we included the following: 🎨 Imaginative use of color and innovative materials. 💡 Flexible spaces with easily-moved tables + chairs to support team collaboration. 📌 Choice of space for for sharing technology, pinning up drawings, and laying out materials to give employees room to review and share. 🏠 Spaces for quiet work and conversations that mimic the privacy of home. ⚡ Tech-forward conference rooms that elevate the meeting experience. ☕ Centralized café-style gathering area that facilitates learning, sharing, and socializing. 🚉 Nods to local geography and landmarks such as naming our private phone “booths” after subway station stops. Ready to reimagine your company’s office environment? We’ve got ideas. #WorkplaceDesign #Architecture #InteriorDesign #PageInteriors Photography by: Keitaro Yoshioka

Big ideas, big projects, big news! We’re thrilled for our clients who were recognized with ULI Austin Impact awards last night. The Texas Children's Hospital North Austin Campus for pediatric and maternal-fetal care took home the Best Project Design award, and Highpoint at 2222 – Austin’s next-gen research mega campus – was recognized as a Finalist in Next Big Idea category. At Texas Children’s, the new, state-of-the-art hospital combines high-performance design with the thoughtful integration of color, texture, form, light, art, and graphics, layered to mimic the beauty and sensibility of the Central Texas landscape. At Highpoint, Karlin Real Estate’s bold vision resulted in the renovation of a 1.1M-sf former 3M lab and modernizing it to meet the needs of today’s workforce. This cutting-edge campus provides innovative work spaces and amenities with direct access to plentiful outdoor areas that connect workers with each other and with nature. We had a blast attending last night's ceremony and send "big" congrats to our clients and partners. 3M Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. “A place is a piece of the whole environment that has been claimed by feelings.” — Alan Gussow “The quote above always comes to mind when designing outdoor spaces that combine the coziness of a shady pergola with the open, spacious viewshed of an urban rooftop. Sometimes called ‘prospect and refuge theory,’ such designs often speak to something deeply human and universally shared across cultures: the need for our environment to support both information-gathering (prospect) and safety (refuge). It satisfies the fundamental desire to feel protected while surveying our surroundings. “The design shown here provides shaded seating for a rooftop bar and restaurant located in Friendswood, Texas. The approach embraced Prospect and Refuge theory by combining a custom shade structure with seat-wall height rooftop planters, creating individual ‘rooms’ between drought-tolerant native plantings. Varying the height of the trellis allows for some air circulation/ventilation without resorting to integrated ceiling fans, which would have drastically increased the cost of the project. It also enhances the sense of ‘enclosure’ for those sitting below the lower sections. “The whole system is located atop a 4-story parking structure with first floor retail, which allowed for a viewshed that leverages from the larger Texas landscape and downtown skyline. Being a bar, we chose to integrate LED light strips in all planter walls to further support wayfinding and enhance the nighttime user experience.” — Page Landscape Designer Evan Granito #DesignMoment #LandscapeArchitecture #OutdoorSpaces

Curating an art gallery is just one more way we share our passion for design, art, beauty, community, and expression. Described as an “invisible gem” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and ArtsATL, Page’s Gallery 100 is celebrating 15 years of providing a gorgeous space for the intersection of fine arts and architecture by showcasing the works of national, regional, and local artists working across all mediums.   Writer Jerry Cullum described Gallery 100 as regularly presenting “exhibitions in harmony with the refined aesthetics of the firm that houses it.” And he noted that our gallery “has flourished in an iconic downtown building with no signage and only modest publicity.”    If you’re in Atlanta, please take time for an artistic infusion at Gallery 100. It’s free; open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, and ready to inspire!    Gallery 100 is located at 100 Peachtree Street NW, Mezzanine level within the Page Atlanta office. “Convergence is the Holy Grail for the future of medicine,” Page Healthcare Sector Leader Tushar Gupta, FAIA, told physicians and leadership during Grand Rounds at the Marnix E. Heersink Institute for Biomedical Innovation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Designing areas of intersection where researchers and clinical care staff can cross paths and share the excitement and innovation that comes out of spontaneous intellectual collisions – creating this convergence is a driving force for Page’s approach to healthcare design. Tushar and Page Healthcare Planning Director Mark Vaughan, FAIA, were thrilled to join Rubin Pillay PhD,MD,MBA,MSc,BSc(Hon)Pharm, Assistant Dean, Executive Director, and Chief Innovation Officer for the Institute, to share this approach and talk directly with doctors and medical professionals working on the front lines of healthcare. "It's about bringing people into a place they actually want to be,” said Mark, as he and Tushar explained how hospitals can extend health and wellness zones well into surrounding communities by providing spaces and opportunities for education, demonstration, exercise, support in making good and healthy decisions for wellness, and even offering events, such as concerts and lectures, that draw people closer together in shared experience. #GoodDesign is #GreenDesign. We’re thrilled that our work at Indeed Tower in Austin, Texas has been recognized with a 2024 Green GOOD DESIGN Sustainability Award from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design. Our design approach for this 36-story office tower included deliberately proportioned floor plates to allow for efficiency in space planning, penetration of natural light, and maximized views. The project far exceeded its original sustainability targets and has achieved LEED Core & Shell v4 Platinum certification from the United States Green Building Council, as well as a 4-star Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) Commercial Rating, Fitwel 1 Star certification, and WELL Health-Safety rating. The project collects, stores, and reuses rainwater onsite, resulting in 100% of site water being from non-potable sources. Potable water within the building was reduced by 30% -- saving 1.5 million gallons saved annually. Through high-performance glazing, interior lighting power reduction, and cooling equipment, Indeed achieved 14% (LEED) and 12.6% (AEGB) total cost reduction. Our contractor responsibly diverted 82.6% of demolition and construction materials from landfills and incineration, and 34% by cost of materials came from recycled and recyclable (closed loop) sources. Our goal? Recreate these high standards for sustainable building by helping clients nationwide realize cost savings in their projects and maximize the potential for positive impact in the physical environments of their communities and beyond. We are proud to have worked with our client Trammell Crow Company to create this true green gem in downtown Austin and continue to refine it under the stewardship of Kilroy Realty Corporation, which purchased the building in 2021. #GreenBuilding #SustainableDesign #ThinkWhatsPossible Photography: Albert Vecerka / Esto
