Have you ever heard of dichroic windows? At the University of Maryland’s E.A. Fernandez IDEA (Innovate, Design and Engineer for America) Factory, we utilized dynamic dichroic glass, creating vivid color changes according to viewing angles and sunlight conditions. The result? Interiors flooded with pink and yellow hues that imbue a sense of imaginative fluidity. And, outside the building, an exterior beacon of color reflects green and blue hues during the day and glows pink at night – signaling the dynamics of engineering innovation to the campus. 📸: Barry Halkin #ThinkWhatsPossible #DesignLed #AcademicDesign #Engineering #Innovation #DichroicGlass xFoundry@UMD
