Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week! Today and every day, we’d like to recognize the impact that volunteers have on both our industry and our local communities. Together, you are bringing about great change by building a strong sense of belonging, improving innovation and development, and so much more. Shout out to our team members that volunteer their time and resources to help transform the world that we live in. Some ways our employees help give back: -Daryl Wimberly (WWCCA Executive Board) – Western Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association is a non-profit entity governed by an elected board of industry peers working cooperatively with the four wall and ceiling labor groups: Carpenters (UBC), Finishers (IUPAT), Plasterers (OPCMIA) and Laborers (LIUNA). Daryl has served on the Executive Board since 2000. -Jennifer Lyon (St. Jude Cancer Center) – Jennifer holds yearly fundraisers to donate money to cancer awareness, and also donates jewelry to cancer patients at St. Jude Cancer Center. -Leah Wimberly (WiOPS Board of Directors) – WiOPS: Women in Construction Operations is a non-profit organization geared towards the advancement of women in construction and mentoring the future women leaders in our industry. Leah served on the Southern California Board for 5 years, and more recently has served on the Governing Board for 2 years to help oversee their growth as they expand to the East Coast. -Leah Wimberly (WWT) – WWT is an entity focused on collaboration between architects, engineers, and contractors, with an emphasis on supporting women and under-represented groups within A/E/C. Leah was one of the founding committee members, and continues to support them as they expand. -Leah Wimberly (Philanthropy Advisor) – Leah serves as a Philanthropy Advisor at her alma mater, San Diego State University, where she ensures the Panhellenic organization AXO is fulfilling their commitments to better their local communities and to support victims of domestic violence, both through community service hours and holding fundraisers to provide financial support. #PacificWallSystems #VolunteerAppreciation #Community #Construction #Volunteer

Congratulations to our Chino Distribution Center project team for winning the 2023 Western Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association's Project of the Year Award! They were recognized for their outstanding craftsmanship in the "Commercial Interior & Exterior" Category at the WWCCA's 16th Annual Awards this week. Chino Distribution Center features 6 buildings spanning across a new 25-acre campus. Pacific Wall Systems, Inc. performed interior and exterior metal framing, drywall, bullet board, insulation, and acoustical ceilings, which included high-end lobby finishes, rotunda entryways, and compound radius arches. We held a team building activity for one of our project teams, where attendees went on a weekend-long fishing trip to connect over beautiful views and incredible fishing. The project team recently celebrated the completion of the new 6-building campus, with our scope including interior and exterior metal framing, drywall, bullet board, insulation, and acoustical ceilings. The test-fit of this GFRG skylight feature is complete and the connection points have been set. Next up: anchoring this 1,000+ pound feature in place using Unistrut and threaded rod. Our partners at MOONLIGHT MOLDS, INC. helped with the design and fabrication of this custom piece. GFRG (Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum) consists of high density alpha-based gypsum and glass fiber reinforcement and can be used for column covers, ornamental features, and highly-customized cast product. Our team has installed millions of dollars' worth of GFRG and GFRC in private estates, high-rise buildings, cathedrals, airports, offices, retail spaces, and more. Stay tuned for finish photos!
