“We have had dreams of adding mental health services in our shelter for years and now the dream is a reality.”     In early 2024, the Our Saviour’s Housing Emergency Shelter launched a 12-month pilot mental health initiative that provides guests at our shelter with access to on-site mental health services. This innovative new service offering is provided in partnership with People Incorporated Mental Health Services, Minnesota’s largest non-profit mental health provider, and is funded through a grant from the Medica Foundation. Exciting news! Thanks to a Behavioral Health grant from the Medica Foundation, we are partnering this year with People Incorporated Mental Health Services to provide direct mental health services for guests at our Emergency Shelter, as well as supporting our shelter staff in working with guests with mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Our organization is on an exciting trajectory with big things to come in the next few years, and we are looking forward to welcoming board members who will help lead us during this exciting period for our organization.
