The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (DFR), through its consumer advocacy, compliance, and enforcement teams, recovered $5,675,543 for Oregonians in the first half of 2024. DFR’s consumer advocates and compliance teams have recovered $5,195,749, while the enforcement team has ordered $479,794 in restitution. The Building Codes Division (BCD) recently received a special recognition award for “building bridges” with officials from the Oregon Building Officials Association (OBOA). The award specifically mentioned the accurate, timely support to OBOA members provided by the team at BCD. Congratulations to our BCD staff for being recognized for excellence in customer service! “One of the things I am proudest of since I have been administrator has been improving our relationships with local governments, and it has been easy because they have been so welcoming and open, and because BCD staff make it happen every day through the excellent customer service they provide,” said BCD Administrator Alana Cox. #OregonBCD

Meet one of the Preferred Worker Program (PWP) team members! Reemployment Assistant Jeffrey Warburton does a lot of behind the scenes work to keep the program moving. He schedules workshops for preferred workers, arranges event attendance for staff members, tracks outreach, and talks to workers and employers about PWP. “My favorite part of my job is working with my great team,” said Jeffrey. “I also enjoy getting to meet new people at events and talk to them about the Preferred Worker Program, especially if they have never heard about all the great benefits we offer.” Jeffrey is from the small town of Crane, Oregon. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and is a big fantasy football fan. “Jeff is such an important part of the team,” said Charity Steffen, Employment Services team manager. “He’s always willing to step in and do whatever his team needs.
