At Optum Rx, our pharmacy team members do more than fill medication for patients; they go above and beyond to understand and listen to what our patients need and meet them where they are. In honor of #WorldPharmacistsDay, I’d like to highlight the great work of Saima, one of our virtual consulting pharmacists with Optum Home Delivery Pharmacy, a service patients can choose if they want their medication delivered to their home that comes with 24/7 access to a pharmacist. “Being there for the patients when they need somebody, when they need a health care professional the most is what is of greatest value,” Saima says. “Sometimes patients may not be able to get a hold of their doctor or go to a retail pharmacy. There are patients who are actually homebound, who can't drive. So, we’re there for those patients, to just talk to them and solve their problems.” Saima, I agree with you. It's deeply rewarding to be able to connect with patients and make a meaningful impact in their lives!
