Air Force Tech. Sgt. Tina Baiza thought her baby days were behind her—until a surprise pregnancy at age 40. As a single mom with three children, Tina felt overwhelmed. That’s when she found Operation Homefront’s Star-Spangled Babies® program. Through the support of CSX and other partners, Tina and other expectant military moms received essential baby supplies at a special event in Baltimore. The experience not only provided much-needed resources but also a sense of community and support! "I’m just so grateful they took the time to do this for us," Tina shared. "The donations were greatly appreciated, and it helps take off a lot of the burden. You could see it on everyone’s face—everyone was glowing." Since 2008, Operation Homefront’s Star-Spangled Babies program has helped over 21,000 military families ease into parenthood with vital baby supplies. A few Operation Homefront team members had the privilege of attending the Military Influencer Conference in Atlanta, GA, this week, where they engaged in meaningful discussions with industry experts about the most pressing challenges facing the military community. It was an inspiring opportunity to connect, collaborate, and explore how we can work together to share resources, provide support, and make a difference for those who selflessly serve. Army veteran LaSaige Francis found herself in a tough spot, struggling to secure housing and financial stability, after 12 years of service. With her car still overseas and disability pay delayed, LaSaige faced homelessness, relying on motels and friends to keep her family safe. With the support of Operation Homefront's Critical Financial Assistance program, LaSaige was able to pay $5,000 for her first month’s rent and security deposit, as well as $300 in food assistance, helping ease the burden during such a challenging time. "Operation Homefront gave me hope," LaSaige shared. "I never gave up because they gave me that encouragement, knowing someone supported me." With a safe place to call home, LaSaige can now focus on her future. She’s studying business administration online and plans to graduate in 2026. She hopes to return as an intern at a law firm where she previously worked. Our gratitude goes out to donors, whose generosity makes a difference in the lives of our military families. We recently joined the team at Impossible Foods in Scottsdale, Arizona for an unforgettable event! The day started with a tribute to the heroes we lost on 9/11, as we observed a moment of silence in their honor. We then had the opportunity to thank Impossible Foods for supporting Operation Homefront programs, like Critical Financial Assistance, which help our military families thrive, not simply struggle to get by. Together, we packed 100 Chili Kits, each including coupons for free Impossible products, recipe cards, and handwritten notes of appreciation for our military families. The National Guard stepped in to help, ensuring the meal kits reached service members and their loved ones. We recently had the honor of handing over the keys to a beautiful new home for Corporal Yobani Castelan and his spouse, who are both service members! As the first in his family to enlist in the military, Yobani and his wife attended a transition readiness seminar and discovered our Transitional Homes for Veterans program. They saw this as a life-changing opportunity to gain financial stability as they transition to civilian life and start a family. In Yobani’s words, “This program offers us the opportunity to achieve success and start a family as we become more financially stable.” 💙 We’re incredibly proud to support this deserving couple, and it's all made possible by the generous donations from our amazing partners. After years of service, Navy veteran Samual Buffington faced a different challenge: rising energy bills due to an outdated HVAC system. The financial strain was overwhelming, but thanks to Operation Homefront’s Critical Financial Assistance program, Samual and his family received the funds needed to replace their system. Now, the Buffingtons can enjoy a more stable home, with one less worry on their shoulders. "The work Operation Homefront does is so important," Samual shared, grateful for the support that has ensured his children's health and safety. “Saying thank you, in my mind, is not enough but it’s kind of all I’ve got,” Samual said. “The health and safety of my kids was one of my biggest concerns.
