Last week marked an incredible week at Opening Doors! Our Spirit Week brought together our amazing team in new and exciting ways, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the energy and enthusiasm everyone brought to the office each day.   From Monochrome Monday to Flourishing Friday, this week was filled with so many moments of fun. Spirit Week was a fantastic reminder of what makes our community of welcome so special.   A huge thank you to all our staff and volunteers who participated, organized, and made this week unforgettable. Your passion and commitment are what drive our mission forward every day.   Here’s to many more moments of connection, joy, and shared purpose as we continue working towards a brighter future together.

Opening Doors’ CEO Jessie Mabry attended the recent Sacramento City Council meeting to advocate for continued funding for the Sacramento Family, Unity, Education, and Legal (FUEL) Network for Immigrants. This coalition is dedicated to serving the legal, information, and health needs of Sacramento’s immigrant and refugee population. Continued funding for the FUEL Network is not only in line with our community’s values, it is also the economically sensible decision.

ABC10’s parent company TEGNA has announced Opening Doors as one of the recipients of the 2024 TEGNA Foundation Community Grant awardees in the Greater Sacramento region. The annual awards program is designed to recognize and applaud deserving organizations for their efforts to positively impact the local community. ABC10 presented Opening Doors with a $5,000 grant during a special reception on May 15, 2024. Thank you to ABC10 and TEGNA for supporting the work of welcome.
