Making History, Saving Lives.
About us
OnPoint NYC is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of marginalized people who use drugs or engage in sex work. Our work addresses the intersection of stigma, policies, and practices that harm our participants and adversely impact the communities where we operate. OnPoint NYC is a leader in innovative and award-winning harm reduction and drug user health focused programs and services. In November 2021, we made history with the opening of the first two Overdose Prevention Centers in the United States, and again in March 2022 when the organization became the largest harm reduction service provider in the country. We are proud to be a trusted partner and collaborator of elected officials, community stakeholders and government bodies, both locally and across the US, in the fight to redress the harms of the war on drugs and in ending the overdose epidemic.

OnPoint NYC reposted this
"We're watching overdose deaths decrease in a population that doesn't look like us." - Sam Rivera of OnPoint NYC at the launch of the Global State of Harm Reduction 2024 report. For the first time ever, the Global State of Harm Reduction 2024 looks at the availability and accessibility of harm reduction services for Indigenous people. It finds that Indigenous people are being left behind in the HIV and overdose response. Indigenous people experience greater drug-related harms than non-Indigenous people. But they lack access to critical life-saving harm reduction services which prevent drug-related overdose deaths and the spread of infectious diseases like HIV and hepatitis.
