So, we've identified the top warehouse safety roadblocks. But now, what can you do to actually achieve safer warehouses? 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞. World-class operations require vision—and that starts with computer vision technology in your warehouse.  To create a safe working environment, especially when you can't be everywhere at once, computer vision is your eyes on the floor 24/7 to know when a safety incident occurs. And WHY. Imagine being able to: 1️⃣ Monitor Operations 24/7: Know what's happening at all times, not just when you're there. 2️⃣ Alert Your Team in Real-Time: Respond to incidents as they occur, not days or weeks later. 3️⃣ Continuously Improve Operations: Discover whether the issue is a safety gap or a process inefficiency. 4️⃣ Make Data-Driven Operations a Reality: Get all your data in one place for safer, more productive operations. When you have the right visibility, behaviors shift, risks are reduced, and you empower everyone to build a more accountable, safety-first culture. A Warehouse Operating System becomes your eyes on the floor for 24/7 visibility, driving not just safety but overall operational excellence.

After installing thousands of OneTrack sensors and hearing from leaders every day at the world's most complex operations, we've identified the top 3 roadblocks to safer warehouses 🚧 1️⃣ Lack of self-reporting and accountability. How often are you walking through aisles and seeing bumps, scratches, and dents? Or a new fleet of forklifts that look like they've been used for 5 years but it's only been a week? It's impossible to hold operators accountable and proactively coach effectively without capturing the right information to make more informed, data-driven decisions. 2️⃣ Managing cell phone usage and other unsafe behaviors. While many warehouses have a zero-tolerance phone policy, warehouses are huge spaces with lots of racking, product, and people throughout. It's not surprising that there could be hundreds of undetected cell phone events in a week. To better manage cell phone usage and unsafe behaviors such as distracted driving and not looking in the direction of travel, you must first be able to measure it. Without this visibility, your operation can face significant costs from increased accidents, damaged product, lost productivity, and even higher turnover due to a lack of safety and accountability. 3️⃣ Limited to no visibility when a safety incident occurs. How often are you spending hours combing through security camera footage or taking statements from operators where the evidence on the floor doesn't match up to what you're hearing? You can't solve problems that you can't see. Creating a safer warehouse begins with bringing critical visibility into your operations. ➡️ How are you using technology to drive better, safer processes within your warehouse today?

In the spirit of Halloween, here are 3 real-life warehouse nightmares that haunt every manager — and tips for turning these horrors into success stories. 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 You can’t solve problems that you can’t see. And when you’re dealing with hundreds of thousands of square feet (or millions) of warehouse space, that’s a lot of problems you can’t see. It’s like The Fog or The Mist, with hidden dangers lurking out of sight 🧟♂️ So picture this: It’s early morning, and you walk into the warehouse, and eerily, a fork is jammed into a column. You check for incident reports. Nothing. And the on-shift supervisor does not know what happened or why. Hours are now spent reviewing grainy CCTV footage, looking for answers that never come. Without clear visibility, you’re left with no way to coach, correct, and prevent this from happening again. 𝙇𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙: 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙨. Proactive coaching before a serious accident is the difference between a solid safety program and, well, getting a fork stuck in a column and being overcome by that dreaded “I don’t know” feeling. Our #WarehouseOperatingSystem gives you video-based insights, delivering what, why, and who straight to your inbox for safer, more accountable warehouse operations. How do you "bring the iceberg to the top" in your warehouse operations? With complete warehouse visibility into people, product, and processes, teams can surface unseen issues and gain valuable context to: ➡️ Effectively coach operators and hold them accountable. ➡️ Make safety manageable, proactive, and data-driven. ➡️ Unlock productivity in every operation. "When working with operators and working with the team, we always try to coach them up. Give them the pieces of information that they're missing," says Justin Emmons, Director of Customer Operations at OneTrack.AI, on an episode of #WarehouseVisionaries.

Safety first — always. As Jamaal Franklin, Operations Manager with ID Logistics US, says on an episode of Warehouse Visionaries: "We preach to our team: the way they come in is how we want them to go home." Jamaal stresses the importance of: 👉 Staying alert. 👉 Being aware of your surroundings. 👉 Understanding potential hazards (even if they're not immediately visible). With an unwavering commitment to safety and proactive measures, such as using OneTrack for complete warehouse visibility around safety incidents and leading indicators, ID Logistics fosters a culture of safety and accountability. This approach has led to impressive results. ✨ 99% decrease in phone use violations. ✨ 84% decrease in overall safety incidents. ✨ 50%+ decrease in impacts (in just 3 months). And as Jamaal explains, prioritizing safety isn't just a policy.   It's a commitment to ensure every warehouse employee clocks out safe after every shift.    #WarehouseSafety #ForkliftSafety #OneTrack #WarehouseVisionaries

Does your warehouse have a no-tolerance phone policy?   Let's face it: that doesn't always stop operators from catching screen time between racks.   Or even worse, texting while driving.   Distracted driving (such as cell phone use or eating/drinking while operating an MHE) is the most common leading indicator of more severe accidents in a warehouse.   And it can also be a productivity killer.   Our data shows it: The number one cause of distracted driving in a warehouse is phone use 📲    It's an issue that's happening in (almost) every facility.   And one of the biggest challenges Justin Emmons sees across the board for 3PLs and shippers.   On an episode of Warehouse Visionaries, he says:   "When a supervisor is walking the floor, a lot of times operators are going to try to hide that and you may not be able to capture those types of incidents."   A zero-tolerance phone policy alone isn't enough.   Your team needs a way to identify unsafe driving behaviors and coach on those safety events early and often to ensure the safest possible warehouses. As Justin explains, making sure that supervisors have the right playbooks, conversation topics, and coaching policies to hold operators accountable. When introducing OneTrack to a facility, we often see hundreds of phone events initially. From day one, our customers begin seeing significant phone event reductions with video-based coaching to help improve behaviors for lasting results.   For instance, Hain Celestial decreased phone use violations by 92% and reduced overall safety incidents by 80% with OneTrack!   So, if you could see everything happening in your warehouses, what could you achieve? #WarehouseSafety #ForkliftSafety #OneTrack #WarehouseVisionaries

After analyzing millions of MHE safety events, we've identified four key categories of leading indicators that often go unseen and unreported: 1️⃣ Lack of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Safety glasses, seatbelts, high visibility vests, and other PPE are essential but often overlooked. When operators miss wearing proper gear, safety risks increase significantly. 2️⃣ Unsafe Driving Behavior Even the best operators can make mistakes like speeding, harsh braking, or not looking in the direction of travel. These behaviors, detected by OneTrack, can be corrected through proactive and productive coaching. 3️⃣ Distracted Driving Comfort can lead to distraction. Whether it's using a phone or Bluetooth earbuds or activities like eating or vaping, distracted driving is a major risk. Spotting these behaviors early can prevent accidents from happening. 4️⃣ Environmental Factors Warehouse environments are dynamic. Increased inventory, broken pallets, floor cracks, and debris are just some of the factors that can contribute to accidents. Understanding the leading indicators in your operations can empower supervisors to better coach on WHY an incident happened and improve warehouse safety. Do you have a critical eye to identify and address these hidden hazards?

Walk through any busy warehouse, and you'll likely spot scuffed lift trucks and bent racking. But very rarely will you see the exact moment it happens. Every warehouse leader understands the value of detecting and recording more incidents. What if you could go one step further and identify the "almosts" — the leading indicators or warning signs — and coach operators before an incident happens? It's what we call having a critical eye. The typical process for employee coaching is reactionary. An incident occurs ➡️ you find out about it ➡️ you talk to that employee about what went wrong. While this accountability is essential, it doesn't always address the root cause or prevent future issues. It only scratches the tip of the iceberg of your warehouse operations. What if you could coach operators before accidents occur, by addressing the risky behaviors and broken processes that lead to them? This shift from reactive to proactive coaching creates a positive feedback loop and fosters a safer, more efficient work environment. "It's what's below the surface of that iceberg, and that's what really moves the needle for an operation. But you have to be able to see that to move that needle," says Evan Stinson on an episode of the Warehouse Visionaries podcast brought to you by OneTrack.AI. Knowing when an incident happens is valuable, but the real power comes from knowing WHY. 👉 Was the operator wearing all of their PPE? 👉 Did they look in the direction of travel? 👉 Were both hands on the controls? 👉 Or were texting while driving? With a critical eye and 24/7 visibility into your warehouse, you can intervene early and ensure every employee finishes their shift without a hitch while keeping your operations running smoothly.
