WHAT TO EXPECT: The demand for security executives who excel in business, technology, and communication is skyrocketing in the rapidly evolving security landscape. Jerome Pickett, a seasoned veteran with over 25 years of experience, epitomizes this trend. From the White House to McDonald's, his unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective leadership has consistently driven innovation and success. In this Impact Interview Series, we'll delve into Jerome's career and uncover the insights that have made him a standout in the security industry. Today, Jerome serves as Corp Vice President & Global Chief Security Officer for the McDonald's Corporation. His distinguished 25-plus year career has been renowned and publicized for delivering innovative solutions, transformational servant leadership, and organization design to organizations such as The Chertoff Advisory Group, CLEAR, The National Basketball Association, Department of Homeland Security, and served on the Presidential Protective Details for George W Bush and Barack Obama as a United States Secret Service Agent. If there is a security executive who exemplifies the skills of succeeding in security without the benefit of being altogether technical, that would be Jerome Pickett. Goals and Objectives. This interview focuses on executive excellence and service in the security world without the benefit of being technical. Not everyone is destined for executive roles, such as CISO, CTO, CSO, and CRO, and that's perfectly okay. It is a selective calling. There are countless valuable contributions to be made at all levels of an organization. There is also the calling to executive leadership for training, mentoring, business development, entrepreneurialism, education, and many more practices and disciplines. The mantra that best comes to mind where leadership is concerned is "Lead from where you are." Yes, executive roles offer significant challenges and rewards; however, they're not the only paths to a fulfilling and impactful career. Many individuals find immense satisfaction and success in a variety of roles that contribute to the overall success of an organization. ✓ Degrees of Leadership ✓ What Makes You Different? ✓ The Path Less Followed ✓ Educational Networking Who should attend? This interview will benefit security professionals in their early to mid-level career progression. This discussion will benefit business professionals such as legal counsel, human resources, recruiting, college students, and professors. If your career track is lending to Information and Cybersecurity, this interview will highlight the value and importance of alternative cybersecurity roles, foster collaboration, and promote career growth opportunities within the field.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Seeking, searching, finding, and landing employment can be a challenging experience. Matching the right candidate with the right role has become more complex than ever. For this interview, we've invited Matthew Alspaugh of Silicon Labs. Matt, a University Recruiter for North America at Silicon Labs, plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's talent acquisition strategy and developmental programming for early career professionals. His responsibilities include overseeing recruitment efforts in Austin, Boston, and Montreal. Matt's journey began in 2020 when he joined the Austin-based entertainment startup Atmosphere as a recruiter. Before that, he honed his skills as a licensed tour guide in Austin and New York. With over a decade of experience in acting, writing, directing, and tour guiding, Matt brings unique insights to his role in talent acquisition. Outside of work, he continues to pursue to pursue his passion for the arts, performing and directing at the award-winning Coldtowne Theater in Austin. Goals and Objectives. A key component in securing a position is connecting and meeting with a recruiter, who acts as the bridge between employers and job seekers, managing the recruitment process from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires. Recruiters have innovatively employed key strategies to navigate this intricate employment acquisition puzzle. Equally challenging is getting past the resume reservoir and getting an opportunity to connect with an organization's internal recruiter. That, too, is also a difficult feat. A key element in Cyversity's vision statement centers on being relational in every facet and aspect of the Cyversity mission. Whether at the board, shareholder, and C-Suite level. The same applies to security executives, analysts, practitioners, sales, business development, educators, and entrepreneurs. Yes, we are relational with recruiters, who are positioned at the entrance to most even employment positions. ✓ What makes for a strong resume? ✓ What makes for a strong interview? ✓ Realities of the job search. ✓ The future of recruiting. ✓ Who Silicon Labs is and how we impact the semiconductor industry ✓ How security in semiconductors is becoming more important Who should attend? You should attend this session if you are in your security journey's early to mid stages. If you are either a technical or non-technical security decision maker, this interview is a fantastic opportunity to hear candid perspectives from security practitioners directly affected by both customer and shareholder decision-making.
