About us
The OnAfrica Angel Network is set to back Africa-focused Technology startups with small checks of between $50k - $400k at the pre-seed to seed stage using the same approach adopted at Africa’s foremost Accelerator. Over the last 5 years, 60 African startups have completed the Startupbootcamp AfriTech Accelerator - 90% of the alumni are still operating and scaling, and collectively, SBC portfolio companies have raised more than $120 Million in follow-on funding. This track record makes SBC one of the most successful early-stage programs on the continent and for investors, using global measures, the fund has performed among the top 5% of Silicon Valley VC funds! Our vision is to be the first check and most founder- and private-investor-friendly Angel investing syndicate in Africa deploying both cash and non-cash support to founders solving for and unlocking opportunities for the next billion Africans. Today, we’re backed by our mentor network made up of over 1000+ mentors spread across the world, keen to support founders, in various ways, and excited at the opportunity to partake in the exclusive deal flow with super Due diligence, that we have access to.

Last week, some of our amazing angel investors at OnAfrica spent some time at the "Meet the Investors Session" at Startupbootcamp/ Timbuktoo /UNDP health tech program. One key piece of advice that stood out for our founders: investors want to see real-world impact alongside a strong, scalable business model. It’s not just about the initial idea, but about how founders plan to execute and drive growth. The ability to demonstrate tangible results and a clear path forward is what makes a startup truly stand out.
