As we celebrate #HispanicHeritageMonth, we're excited to showcase the voices and experiences of a few of our team members. 🎊 Meet Neyda, Accounting Clerk V at OPPD 👋 She supports administrative tasks that help fulfill customer needs for OPPD’s products and services. For Neyda, Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate her culture and embrace her identity. Her family's roots are in Mexico, and she enjoys visiting their homeland every year because it allows her to connect with relatives and appreciate all that the country has to offer. Neyda's heritage has shaped her by giving her the confidence to pursue new opportunities and take pride in where she comes from. It has also taught her to be fearless in the face of challenges. Her advice? "Always go for an opportunity that helps you grow and have the courage to take those opportunities a step further."

We’re proud to have joined so many at the Out of the Darkness Walk this weekend, where our community came together to take meaningful steps toward suicide prevention. As a sponsor, we support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in their mission to provide critical resources, fund life-saving research and offer hope to individuals and families impacted by mental health struggles. At OPPD, we’re committed to fostering a supportive environment where mental health is prioritized. #TogetherToFightSuicide

As we celebrate #HispanicHeritageMonth, we're excited to showcase the voices and experiences of a few of our team members. 🎊 Meet Tim, Supervisor of Financial Operations 👋 With 30 years of experience at OPPD, Tim holds a variety of financial responsibilities including accounts receivable, directing OPPD's relationships with collection agencies, overseeing credit lines and helping manage retirement plans. Tim was born and raised in Omaha after his father moved to the US from Peru to study medicine. During his childhood, many Omaha Peruvians would go to his family's house to celebrate Peruvian Independence Day. The celebration was filled with singing, dancing and conversations about life in Peru. Two things that his dad passed on to him were a strong work ethic and a gift for music. 🏠 🎵 Tim's advice for youth? Stay in school through college and don't give up when things get hard. His goal is to keep young members of the Hispanic community focused on the long-term goals they can achieve.
