In 1992, the Ohio Business Roundtable was established for one sole purpose: to improve Ohio’s business climate. Since its inception, the OBRT has worked with Ohio’s governors and legislative leaders to make Ohio more business-friendly and more competitive both nationally and internationally. The Roundtable is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization comprised of chief executive officers of many of Ohio’s largest, most successful companies. Because of the collective expertise and insight of OBRT members, the Roundtable is uniquely capable of bringing solutions to improve Ohio’s economic vitality and ensure that Ohio remains the ideal state in which to live, work and succeed.

What a fantastic panel to listen to! Thank you to all the panelists who shared their insights on innovation within the different sectors of higher education and private business. It was a great event and we were happy to be able to join to hear some of our members such as University of Cincinnati, JobsOhio, and Intel Corporation!
The second panel discussion on "Growing the Innovative Economy" led by Drew Cooper, Director of Government Engagement JobsOhio at today's Ohio Innovation and Technology Association covered several key points: 🔑 Innovation in Higher Ed: Our UC Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer, ryan hays shared initiatives in Cincinnati Innovation District, emphasizing collaboration, innovation space, and ecosystem activation. He highlighted the importance of access to venture capital (VC) for growth, referencing Stanford University Professor and best-selling Author, Ilya Strebulaev's book, "The Venture Mindset", advocating for a similar mindset in academia and government. "There’s a reason they don’t put their entire fund on one goal, they often don't focus on striking out, rather the home run." - Ryan Hays Bill Jonhson, President of Youngstown State University added, “Universities have to be flexible to workforce needs”. Suggesting the ever-changing needs of partnering companies. 🔑 Innovation in Banking: Scott M.
