In our ongoing pursuit of workforce wellness and practice efficiency, Ochsner is excited to share great results from our agreement with DeepScribe to implement its ambient AI clinical documentation technology across the system. This video showcases some of our physicians discussing how DeepScribe is helping them focus on patients. The technology also has a positive effect on the patient experience, with 96 percent of patients stating they are likely to recommend the provider who uses it. When clinicians talk about documenting patient visits, here’s what they mention: - having to remember encounters long after the visit - typing while talking with a patient (but kind of pretending not to) - staying late to finish charting (and missing out on family time) Not ideal for the moment of care. Certainly not ideal for the clinician's day. With that in mind, it’s really satisfying to hear when our ambient AI solves those issues, and makes for a better care experience. That's what's happening right now at Ochsner Health - and we couldn't be prouder. We traveled to Louisiana to talk with Innovation Officer Jason Hill, MD, and some of the physicians at Ochsner Health, about delivering care and the role DeepScribe now plays in improving their lives. For the clinicians, being able to do their jobs with greater focus and respect for their time... that's personal. Exactly what dedicating a career to others should be. To hear from Dr. Hill and other Ochsner Health physicians, check out the video. #ambientAI #AIdocumentation #providerwellbeing

Congratulations to David Schwartz, MD, who has been named the 2024 recipient of the 39th annual Alton Ochsner Award Relating Smoking and Disease! Dr. Schwartz, a distinguished professor of medicine and immunology and director of the Program to Advance Physician Scientists and Translational Research at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz School of Medicine, is being recognized for his groundbreaking research on the genetic and environmental factors contributing to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic lung disease. He discovered that a specific change in the MUC5B gene significantly increases the risk of developing the condition, and smoking can increase this risk by three to five times. His discovery opens new doors for early identification and treatment of this disease. As we honor the legacy of Dr. Alton Ochsner, who first linked smoking to lung cancer, we continue to support researchers like Dr. Schwartz, who are advancing our understanding of smoking-related diseases. Congratulations, Dr. Schwartz, on this well-deserved recognition! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gG2fxq-6
