Applications for our Fall 2024 program cycle will open on Monday, August 19 at www.oasisforgirls.org. Who we are: Oasis for Girls partners with girls & young women of color, aged 14-18, from under-resourced communities in San Francisco to cultivate the skills, knowledge, and confidence to discover their dreams and build strong futures. What we do: We offer 3 summer & after-school programs (girls attend one at a time)—each with a different curriculum. These programs span academic and career exploration, arts & activism, and life skills development. Our girls are taught and mentored by Program Leaders who mirror our girls’ backgrounds and serve as allies throughout their high-school years and beyond. We just wrapped up programming for summer 2024! On Friday we had our graduation ceremony for our girls. Field trips, a wellness workshop, and a career event only briefly sum up what you've accomplished during these six weeks. We are so proud of each and every one of you.💜 Congratulations! 🎉 Congratulations to Bethlehem Berhane, the proud recipient of the 2024 So-Youn Kim Memorial Scholarship! 👏🏾👏🏼 This award celebrates her exceptional academic achievements, outstanding leadership qualities, and unwavering dedication to her community. 🎊 The scholarship honors the legacy of So-Youn Kim, whose light, courage, and passion for empowering young women and girls will always be remembered. So-Youn Kim was an AmeriCorps volunteer with Oasis for Girls from 2007-2008. 🕊🤍 Betty completed two Oasis programs: ENVISION & CREATE 💜 A recent graduate of Lowell High School, she will be attending California State University, Long Beach this fall to study Computer Science! 👩🏽💻🎓📚 Oasis was honored to share this special moment with Betty, her father, the Kim family, and our Oasis community.
