Peer-to-Peer support is transforming mental health care! 💚 Our HEART Manager/Peer Specialist Lauren “Ren” Pelley, CRSP along with Peer Specialist Javita Coleman were interviewed by SJ Mag Media for the article "Shared Pain, Shared Healing." Peer support is a proven mental health model of care in which someone who has a lived recovery experience with mental illness and/or substance abuse works alongside therapists, psychiatrists and case managers. Lauren explains, “Oaks hired me because they see I have a distinct form of knowledge as someone who has been in the shoes of those I serve.
