A new Spanish-speaking podcast is coming soon! Find out all about it in the latest episode of Addiction: The Next Step featuring host Jerry Gretzinger and the future host of "La Adicción: El Siguiente Paso," Edison Alban. The pair discuss the importance of inclusive content and Edison's commitment to using his Spanish skills to bridge communication gaps. The expansion highlights the agency’s mission to ensure that vital information about substance use and addiction reaches every corner of our diverse communities. Tune in to “Launching a Spanish Podcast: Expanding Addiction Resources for the Latino Community” on our website or wherever you get your podcasts! https://lnkd.in/evJTQkzA #AddictionTheNextStep #EveryStepOfTheWay Soundbite of Edison Alban below: "It's great that we're going to have so many people, so many guests that I'm already lining up for the show that are going to speak their language, and people that are like you and me, people that have great stories to tell. Some of these people have had incredible careers, and then they had maybe a downfall, and there were issues, and then they had to pick themselves up, and so to hear directly from these people in their language, to hear stories that we could all relate to, I think it's so important."

Get ready to celebrate Recovery Month with our latest podcast episode! You'll gain insight into the peer workforce, the future of certified recovery residences in New York State, and the crucial role recovery centers play in their communities. These initiatives not only support individuals in their recovery but also contribute to the overall well-being of communities across the state. We're joined by Acting Deputy Commissioner of Programs Patricia Lincourt and Director of Recovery Bureau Brenda Harris-Collins. "So, when you go around and visit a recovery center, what you'll see is it really reflects the community of people they're serving. Some have really unified around recreation and are very active, and they'll do things like kayaking on the weekend. Others are much more focused on community service or outreach into the community, so it's really, they are very unique to the population they serve, the needs of the people who are coming to them," said Patricia Lincourt, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Programs. Don't miss out! Tune in to 'Recovery Month: A Guide to Supportive Services' on our website or wherever you get your podcasts! #AddictionTheNextStep Video description: Two people are seated at a table with headphones and microphones featuring the quote above.
