For tonight's annual Polk County Women Attorneys basket auction to benefit the Young Women's Resource Center, we filled the Nyemaster basket with a treasure trove of items for new moms-to-be, including a diaper bag, feeding pillow, sound machine, creams, diapers, books, and the much coveted Nyemaster onesie. The theme is particularly timely as a number of our attorneys and staff are expecting new additions in the weeks ahead!

A – The catchy little ditty below! 🎵🎙 Last month Nyemaster attorney Ryan Carter spoke on artificial intelligence to the Blackhawk Country Bar Association. As part of his remarks, Ryan, a part time musician, turned to music to demonstrate the power of AI. He went to Udio and used the following prompt: “A song about a group of lawyers, sitting in a room learning about artificial intelligence. Please make the song have a modern country feel. Make reference to Cedar Falls, Iowa and cornfields seeing about lawyers being awesome.” Hear the result below. Law.com recently spoke with Nyemaster’s Frances Haas about the EEOC’s increased scrutiny of internal investigations.   Among the points Fran makes in the article is the importance of HR professionals in conducting these investigations. She warns that “a lot of HR professionals develop their skills over time, just like any professional, and the EEOC is saying it's not enough to just have done this many times–you have to have specific training."   To address this need for proper training Fran and Mary Funk will be hosting a special internal investigator training workshop on Novebmer 20.
