THE FACTS: - We lay 1.1 million tons of asphalt & resurface 1,150 lane miles each year. - Each of NYC’s 59 Community Boards receives a lane mile allocation every resurfacing season. - We have 15 resurfacing crews (11 day, 4 night). - We source our asphalt from 2 municipal City-owned asphalt plants (Brooklyn and Queens) and 3 vendor plants (Staten Island, Queens, and the Bronx) - After resurfacing, roadways have 5-15+ year lifespan - It’s not a convator, it’s a backhoe.
