As you scroll to this post, check your posture! 🤳🏽 Are you hunched over your devices for hours? Many of us spend countless hours staring at screens, often forgetting about our posture. This can lead to a condition known as “tech neck,” or in medical terms, cervical kyphosis. This forward curve of the spine in the neck can look and feel uncomfortable. You can prevent cervical kyphosis from developing and even improve it by keeping screens eye-level, and with exercises that restore the natural curve of your spine — think Pilates and yoga. 🧘🏽 Follow the link for Neurosurgeon Dr. Jeffrey Gilligan's, a spine specialist, explanation of why tech neck happens and how to improve it! #neurosurgeryawarenessmonth

Cognitive problems can be really scary — for the person experiencing them and their families. We understand and are committed to offering the best care for everyone’s emotional and physical health. 💙 Nuvance Health Medical Practice Primary Care now offers an at-home cognitive care program for people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early-stage dementia. We expanded the program from our Neuroscience Institute to help more people. 🧠 Neuroglee Connect™ is a comprehensive cognitive care solution with brain-stimulating, reminiscence and wellness activities. It also has resources for caregivers, including support for managing anxiety and stress. The individual and support person access everything from a mobile device. “It’s like a medical mental games app and many more brain-stimulating and wellness activities with physician supervision and tracking,” said Dr. Alex Mosteanu, regional medical director of Nuvance Health Medical Practice Primary Care East. “It’s like sending your brain to the gym.” “We want to reassure our communities they can access comprehensive, coordinated cognitive care. By reaching more people experiencing cognitive concerns early, we can improve outcomes, support caregivers and enhance the overall quality of life for those affected,” said Dr. Paul Wright, senior vice president and system chair of the Nuvance Health Neuroscience Institute. Find out how early interventions like this are helping to slow the progression of MCI and early-stage dementia symptoms.
