Our Community Policing Unit is always looking to meet those we serve. Recently, we got to meet little Liam who is a big fan of police officers. He wanted to show off his cool police vest and give us high fives. It was only fair that we matched his awesomeness and gave him a tour of the police trucks. Thanks Liam! What a great community we get to protect and serve. Come join our team! #CommunityOfUnity

To become a Public Safety Telecommunicator with NPPD, dispatchers must take part in more than 400 hours of training. We are proud to announce PST Heather Cooley and PST Jennifer Fortuno have accomplished the task. Staff celebrated with delicious treats. Great work ladies. Thank you for your commitment to the agency and those we serve!

Crime Analysts are often unsung heroes working behind the scenes to keep us safe. Friday, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement held a graduation for 30 law enforcement analysts from the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy. These graduates serve crime intelligence roles representing criminal justice agencies from across the State of Florida. We are happy to announce that NPPD's own Narissa Seepaulsing is now one of those recognized as a Florida-Certified Law Enforcement Analyst. We are so proud and thankful for Narissa's commitment to our agency and to our community. Congratulations!

Today, Chief Todd Garrison and the North Port Police Department were honored to take part in the annual Law Enforcement Memorial hosted by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Representatives from around the region paid respects to the three officers and K9 who lost their lives serving their communities in Florida and the 138 throughout the country this past year. Their service and the service of all those who have fallen before them will never be forgotten. Thank you SCSO for bringing us all together for this important service. #NationalPoliceWeek

It's Administrative Professionals Day! We wanted to take a few moments to thank ours. It takes many helping hands behind the scenes to make sure our Police Department runs as smoothly as possible. Thank you Business Services Coordinator Susan Wager and Business Manager Jennifer Ayres. We could not do it without you. Literally. Math is hard. We thank all those out there who put in the hours to make work, work. #AdministrativeProfessionalsDay
