NACRA is excited to share that the CRJ's new issue has been published. Thanks to Eric Dolansky and the team.
The new issue of the Case Research Journal has been published! This issue contains five great cases that span the world, different subject areas, and scope of decisions. Case Research Journal is published by the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). The first case from this issue that I would like to tell you about is called "Carol Aldana: Is It Time to Leave?" by JUAN PARRA. This case first came to my attention when it won an award at a NACRA conference. I had been struck by the effective storytelling and how invested I was in Carol Aldana's journey. In the case, she faces a career decision: leave her current role for a new one at a different company, which would bring uncertainty, the same salary, but the potential for better work-life balance; or stay, in a difficult work environment and for an inflexible boss, but where she had built her reputation. Complicating matters is that she was in the midst of a complicated project and did not want to leave with it unfinished. The analysis looks at why people stay and leave organizations, from the employee's point of view, and the instructor's manual includes two epilogues that extend the story and present new decision points to be covered in class. Case Research Journal cases can be adopted through many partners such as Harvard Business Publishing, Ivey Publishing, and The Case Centre. I encourage you to check out our collection of high-quality decision-focused cases with deep, comprehensive instructor's manuals.
