NOMA PGH invites its members and community at large for the second year in a row for a Construction Tour of the PIT TRANSFORMED Terminal Modernization Program project at the Pittsburgh International Airport. This new experience will be enabled by a new, approximately 811,000 square-foot-terminal facility that will include airport operations, consolidated airline operations, as well as all passenger and public spaces, such as ticketing, baggage claim, a meet-and-greet area, security checkpoint and retail and concession options. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to be on site. Visitor waiver (Hold Harmless) will be provided upon registration. Register at the link below!!! Have you signed up for our summer camp yet? If not, do so quickly because registration closes in TWO WEEKS! This year, we have extended our summer camp to 4-days of interactive activities! Campers will be making models, sketches, and collages that explore Afrofuturism and its intersection with architectural design. By weaving personal narratives with imaginative storytelling, students will challenge how architects can use design to create worlds that are filled with wonder and excitement. The camp is open to students entering the 6th through 12th grade and will be hosted at Carnegie Mellon University. The camp runs from August 1st to August 4th, from 9AM to 3PM each day! Project Pipeline is less than a month away and we are seeking volunteers to join us! This year's camp is Future in Color: A summer workshop that strives to decolonize design and use lessons from Afrofuturism to challenge our students to imagine radically just and sustainable worlds. Our camp has extended to FOUR days this year, so we are seeking volunteers who are able to commit to volunteering during a workday. Volunteers will receive lunch and a t-shirt, and must have all required clearances by the date of the camp.
