🌹🌹🌹 @ 2023 Fellow Michael Raymond Lester
I wouldn’t have kept saying I was there to help. If I could start my leadership career over, I’d say we’re there to help each other. Yesterday the room was about 200-full, but the two people whom William Silva and I were most focused on were Jakoya Wilkins and Michael Raymond Lester (Fellow at NFBLME: The National Fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators, I should add). These two were our co-facilitators and had been preparing since late June to be in front of their network in a way they never had been before. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve been leading for years, but true leaders never stop pushing themselves. Yesterday they rose to the occasion and commanded that room. No microphone. No safety net. Just preparation. We pushed them. They pushed us. And the incredible teachers and staff we served yesterday pushed us as well. My sincere belief is that no one walked out of that room without being at least a little more ready to serve the beautiful children of Boston than they were when they walked in. Including us. We all helped each other.

NFBLME: The National Fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators reposted this
Read about my new favorite rom-com, an 8 trillion dollar problem, and how we can address it in my latest Forbes article. A Labor Of Love: How Embracing Our Jobs Like “Emily In Paris” Can Address An $8.9 Trillion Challenge! “I love rom-coms and as I await the second part of season four of my new favorite rom-com, I find myself reflecting on the powerful tension between passion for one’s work and the concept of labor itself. Said differently, while I love rom coms, I can’t always say that I love “laboring” at work.” (Link in the comments) https://lnkd.in/gw-6S73t
