Celebrating a Milestone in Cancer Data Standardization!  Next Level is thrilled to share some exciting news! The recent collaboration between the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) on the USCDI+ Cancer Data Exchange Summit has been a resounding success. As part of our commitment to advancing cancer research and patient care, Next Level Health Innovations had the privilege of supporting this critical initiative.   Behind the Scenes: What Made It Successful? Meticulous Preparation! Months of planning went into crafting the agenda, lining up guest speakers, designing the break-out groups, drafting data elements, and managing 100 other logistics to facilitate real-time collaboration between onsite and virtual participants. Kudos to federal experts from the ONC, NCI, the FDA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Innovation (CMMI) and other national initiatives (CodeX HL7 FHIR Accelerator) for amazing work leading up to the Summit. Special shout-out to summit participants who brought an amazing breadth of perspectives, from the patient experience to experts in clinical trial protocols.    To the Next Level Health Innovations Team: Great work! Next Level is proud to support the upcoming USDCI+ Cancer Data Exchange Summit as part of vital initiatives set forth by ONC, the National Cancer Institute, and several partners. The Data Summit will bring together scientific and technical communities to assess existing data standards and determine the necessary data requirements to implement the USCDI+ Cancer Moonshot Use Cases.   Together, we are addressing: 🔹Clinical Trial recruitment/matching 🔹Immune-related Adverse Event (irAE) capture 🔹Speed, completeness, and accuracy of cancer registry data   Did you know? 📊 Cancer accounted for about 20% of all US deaths in 2020, with significant racial disparities. Black individuals experience higher death rates for many cancer types, and Hispanic/Latino, Black, and American Indian/Alaska Native women face higher incidence rates of cervical cancer. Sharing the announcement from Steven Posnack at #HIMSS2024. The draft data elements for USCDI+ Behavioral Health are now available for comment. Feedback from the public via the USCDI+ platform is part of a multi-pronged strategy to gather information to standardize data and improve behavioral health outcomes.
