Some of the team attended the Glasgow Barclays UK Campus this morning! The Times were the media partner for the event, 'What's the Big Picture in Scotland?', to delve into the current state of the UK economy and its impact on Scottish businesses. Our very own Greig Cameron Scottish Business Editor at The Times, spoke at the event sharing the research results specific to Scotland. Will Hobbs, Head of UK Multi-Asset Wealth at Barclays, shared his insights on the global and domestic economy. A fantastic opportunity to network and gain valuable perspectives on the future of business in Scotland!

It was fantastic to attend the Invest2Scale 2024 event yesterday at the Virgin Hotel in Edinburgh, with The Times supporting as media partners. We eagerly await their next article covering the event - be sure to keep an eye out for the recap and highlights you might have missed! 👀 The event featured some brilliant speakers who shared extremely beneficial insights on hot trends and topics facing the industry, particularly focusing on: 🍃 Greentech Sector Showcase, Scotland is truly leading the way in green tech innovation, from solar, wind, and wave energy solutions to green ecosystem solutions across multiple sectors. 🤝 Shane Corstorphine enlightened us with his "Three Essential Pillars for Scaling Companies," offering tangible and actionable solutions for CEOs, CFOs, and COOs. 🌍 Going Global - Fireside Chat: This session provided invaluable advice for companies seeking investment from big VCs, discussing international expansion and the dominance of the US in global investment. 💡 Panel Sessions: We heard from various companies and active VC investors about their scale-up experiences, interactions with large corporate customers, and the importance of scaling these relationships. We also had discussions on how the likes of Modulr successfully raised over £140m and market analysis on the Scottish Scale up scene. 💪 There was also an excellent female panel session discussing their scale up experiences and interactions with large companies and how to scale-up these relationships. It was a really upbeat and positive day. We kicked off with our Chair, Irene Graham OBE, highlighting all the UK initiatives in existence and coming to the fore to help scaling companies gain access to capital and rounded out the day with the success story of QikServe from their founder, Daniel Rodgers.
