About us

Since its founding in 1958, the New Jersey State Bar Foundation's mission has been twofold: to serve as the public's statewide resource for FREE law-related and violence prevention education and to foster legal professionalism by offering opportunities for attorneys to serve the public. The Foundation believes that "informed citizens are better citizens" and our broad range of award-winning programs and services, supported in part by funding from the IOLTA Fund of the Bar of New Jersey, speaks to that. Our programs include conferences on law and disability, special education and legal issues of concern to citizens; mock trial programs for students from kindergarten through grade 12; teacher trainings in conflict resolution, peer mediation, social emotional character development and strategies to combat teasing and bullying, as well as how to teach the Holocaust; scholarships to worthy law students; The Legal Eagle, our legal newspaper for kids, and Respect, our diversity newsletter, both geared to middle and high school students; and website access to a wide range of publications relating to law, government and education. For details on the full array of FREE programs and services offered by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, go to njsbf.org and follow us on social media. @NJStateBarFdn can be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and we also have a YouTube channel.
