New Client Alert 🚨🚨! The Alliance for Black Equality, a new organization mobilizing Black voters in swing states, has been an instrumental player in ensuring the Harris campaign turns out Black men. Over the past year, Alliance founder Dr. Alvin Tillery has used polling and campaign ads to demonstrate how messaging on civil rights and stop-and-frisk will mobilize Black voters. And we are seeing the results! The Alliance's new poll shows that Vice President Harris has INCREASED her support among Black and Gen Z men by TEN points since early October. New Heights has loved working with Alvin and the entire Alliance team, helping bring attention to their work--because the stakes have truly never been higher. DEI isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a lifeline for democracy and good business. As we stand just a week away from the election, let’s get real: ignoring diversity, equity, and inclusion is a step backward—for companies and for the country. We were happy to help Cyrus Mehri of Mehri & Skalet, PLLC break it down in Fast Company, making the case for why DEI isn’t just nice-to-have; it’s non-negotiable and how you implement it matters. https://lnkd.in/eHr_V2BX

Using technology in an election isn't a replacement for transparency—it's a tool to enhance it, making sure elections are both efficient and secure. In a recent Marketplace interview with Meghan McCarty Carino, Verified Voting Foundation President and CEO Pamela Smith shares why hand-counting ballots on election night has steadily declined across the country, despite recent efforts to bring it back, including the new rule in Georgia requiring the number of ballots to be hand-counted on election night: "You get a rapid election night count if you're using voting technology that counts ballots automatically. And it's important that you can use hand counts to supplement that and get the best of both worlds by checking to make sure the machines did it right. And that's a hand count audit, or perhaps in some cases, a hand count recount, and that is really kind of the best way to do it." 🔗 to the full post below! https://lnkd.in/eJBqsnmF

As #ClimateWeek comes to a close we want to share a timely and urgent op-ed from New Heights client Mayors Migration Council on the role that cities can play to prepare for the impact of climate-driven migration in the years and decades ahead. Hurricane Helene ravaged large parts of the U.S. yesterday, showing us that climate change isn't a future thing--it's happening right now--and it reiterates the need for the actions outlined by Mayors Migration Council Executive Director Vittoria Zanuso and her co-author, Mark Watts who serves as Executive Director of C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. https://lnkd.in/eCAFckfi

Yes, tax policy can be confusing, but not when New Heights Communications can help you break it down! On Wednesday, we journeyed to Capitol Hill to support the State Revenue Alliance and Fair Share America's press conference fighting for fair tax policy heading into 2025. Over 200 state-based tax justice advocates traveled to Washington, D.C. to express the urgent need for tax reforms that prioritize working families, make the wealthy pay their fair share, and hold corporations accountable. We were joined by some exciting speakers, including Senator Michael Bennett, Rep. Gwen Moore, and Rep. Lloyd Doggett, NEA President Becky Pringle, and NDWA President Ai-jen Poo. New Heights was excited to be at this event and see our communications work behind the scenes in action!

New Heights Communications President and founder Christy Setzer joined CNN's The Lead earlier this week to discuss Donald Trump facing a fresh indictment for his past attempts to overturn the 2020 election and what he's queued up for 2024. Mike Pence may not have found the "courage" to declare Trump the winner in 2020, but an emboldened Trump is more than willing to ask the courts, including the Supreme Court, to simply wave their magic gavels and declare him the winner. On #WomensEqualityDay, we want to honor the incredible suffragists who worked tirelessly to secure the passage and adoption of the 19th Amendment, which enshrined voting rights for some women into the Constitution. Those brave women got into a whole bunch of “good trouble” and shook loose an institution founded by and for men. Their work fundamentally made our country a better place. Generations of troublemakers followed, securing voting rights for ALL women. Now, more than a century later, women are still making “good trouble” and leading the way, from the ballot box to the White House, to fight for our fundamental freedoms. A special shout out to New Heights clients like She The People Founder Aimee Allison and Verified Voting President & CEO Pamela Smith who are some of those leaders keeping the suffragists quest for equality alive and thriving today!

New Heights has been on the ground at the DNC this week—and so have our clients, including Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, She The People Founder Aimee Allison, and Freeda Womb of Americans For Contraception. All three published compelling op-eds this week, so even if you couldn’t catch them at the DNC, check out their pieces linked in the comments!
