We are thrilled to announce that Nemours Children’s Health has received a remarkable $7 million donation from the Pass It On To Kids Foundation! 🎉 This is the largest donation to a single research project at Nemours Children’s. This generous gift will propel groundbreaking oncology research led by Dr. Kenneth Alexander, Division Chief, Infectious Diseases, and Dr. Tamarah Westmoreland, Associate Professor of Surgery, targeting neuroblastoma and ovarian cancers. Additionally, part of the donation will support our Child Life department’s music therapy program, bringing comfort and healing through music to even more children. Today’s donation is the largest ever for a single research project at Nemours, marking a historic moment in our commitment to transform children’s health. “This significant donation will enable us to advance critical, promising research that could provide novel treatment options for hard-to-treat cancers in the future,” said Dr. Matthew M. Joshua, diagnosed with SMA Type 1, has faced many hurdles. Under the care of Dr. John Lovejoy and the team at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, Joshua underwent significant surgeries, including halo traction and rod placement, improving his quality of life.
