NC Department of Health and Human Services is urging western North Carolinians relying on private wells for drinking water to use bottled, boiled or treated water. Private wells impacted by Hurricane Helene must be disinfected and tested for dangerous bacteria.

LaPonda Edmondson, DrPH, MHS has been promoted to president of the North Carolina Healthcare Foundation and senior vice president of the North Carolina Healthcare Association. In 2019, Dr. Edmondson led the launch of the Diverse Healthcare Leaders Mentorship Program. Below she is pictured with some of the 2024 program graduates.

#HurricaneHelene Recovery Update:
🤝 28 RNs are providing 80 12hr shifts over the next several days in Emergency Department and Labor & Delivery.
🤝 227 residents, 35 pets, and 47 #IMT, #EMS, American Red Cross North Carolina, Buncombe County Government and NC Department of Health and Human Services and other support personnel are being housed at the #WNC Agricultural Center shelter.
🤝 Our Incident Management Team has increased their presence at the shelter and has moved operations to a command bus.
🤝 Fire and Life Safety Coordinator, Jay Baker, is now deployed to #BurkeCounty as part of an IMT supporting Finance & Administration.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, AdventHealth Hendersonville team members have been dedicated to providing caring, not just for the community, but for each other as well. Our team members have been resilient and have continued to show up to support their coworkers and community throughout this devasting natural disaster. Shortly after the storm hit, AdventHealth Hendersonville quickly set up a distribution of supplies for our team members to ensure that each employee and their family were compassionately cared for during this time.
