The Honolulu Chapter of NAWIC was chartered in 1965 to enhance the success of women in the construction industry.
About us
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen women working in the construction industry founded it in 1953. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more. The Honolulu Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction, was chartered in 1965 to enhance the success of women in the construction industry.

We wanted to personally thank all of you who were able to attend NAWIC Pau Hana + Big Island Membership Drive on April 11, 2024! There was such high energy, and we had a blast with you all! You all are inspiring! Big mahalo to Wrindy for getting potential members to attend, this event’s success is heavily due to her efforts! Special mahalo to B. Bautista Electrical Contractor for being our event sponsor. We had a total of 26 ATTENDEES, Big Island y’all showed up If you know more women in the industry, other women coworkers/friends in the industry, please encourage them to sign up for NAWIC – based on the Big Island presence of NAWIC members we want to plan to have more events in the near future! Additionally, if your company would like to be a future Big Island event sponsor, please let us know! We can add you to the list, event sponsors help us offer affordable “registration” fees for our events, this can also help with having more events on Big Island – plus you receive advertising opportunities! Our event attendees are not limited to women, there are many men who support women in construction!
