🚨 Critical Windows TCP/IP Vulnerability – CVE-2024-38063 🚨 Microsoft released an urgent security update to address a critical remote code execution vulnerability in the Windows TCP/IP stack. This vulnerability, with a critical CVSS score of 9.8, affects all supported Windows and Windows Server versions, including Server Core installations. An attacker can remotely exploit this by sending specially crafted IPv6 packets to a target host, and no user interaction is required. Successful exploitation of this “0-click” vulnerability could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code on the target system with SYSTEM privileges, allowing them full control over the compromised machine. As an additional mitigation, #Microsoft recommends disabling IPv6 if it is not required, as the vulnerability can only be exploited via IPv6 packets.
