We had a great time at the Grubhub Food "Feastival" in Chicago yesterday at Daley Plaza. This was a celebration of Grubhub's 20th anniversary. Thank you, Grubhub for your continued partnership on the #AAPISTRONG Restaurant Fund which has injected $6M in grants to AAPI-owned restaurants since 2021. #Grubhub

New Report: Systemic Barriers Holding Back California's Diverse-Owned Small Businesses A new report commissioned by the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, and California African American Chamber of Commerce reveals that despite making up nearly half of California’s 4.1 million businesses, Diverse-owned Small Businesses (DSBs) face major challenges like limited access to capital and high barriers to entry. These systemic issues have hindered the growth and contribution of DSBs to the state’s economy. The report was completed by Beacon Economics and funded by Southern California Gas Company, San Diego Gas & Electric, and Kaiser Permanente. Key Findings: - DSBs contributed $414 billion to California’s economy in 2020, supporting 3.6 million jobs annually. - California has fewer minority-owned small businesses relative to its population compared to Florida, New York, and Texas. - Targeted policies and better data collection could unlock the untapped potential of - DSBs and boost economic growth.
