“A strong majority of Americans recognize that period supplies are school supplies. Placing them in restrooms is a solid strategy to keep all students attending [school] when they are on their periods, to promote good health and hygiene, and to fight against stigma around a perfectly natural bodily function.” -Alliance for Period Supplies CEO, Joanne Samuel Goldblum An overwhelming majority of Americans agree that period products should be as freely available as toilet paper and paper towels in the restrooms of public schools and universities according to a study conducted by YouGov for Alliance for Period Supplies. We exist to reveal the truth behind diaper need. Basics aren't basic, they're essential.
About us
The National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) leads a nationwide movement dedicated to helping individuals, children and families access the basic necessities they require to thrive and reach their full potential…including clean, dry diapers, period supplies and other basic needs. Launched in 2011 with the support of founding sponsor Huggies®, NDBN is dedicated to creating awareness, providing assistance and building community to #EndDiaperNeed in the US. Its active membership includes more than 300 basic needs banks serving local communities in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. More information on NDBN and diaper need is available at nationaldiaperbanknetwork.org, and on Twitter (@DiaperNetwork), Instagram (@DiaperNetwork) and Facebook (facebook.com/NationalDiaperBankNetwork). In May 2018, the organization launched the Alliance for Period Supplies, with the support of founding sponsor U by Kotex®, to raise national awareness of period poverty (#periodpoverty) and support the development and expansion of period supply programs in communities throughout the country. The organization is comprised of more than 130 Allied Programs that collect, warehouse and distribute menstrual/period supplies in local communities. More information on Alliance for Period Supplies is available at allianceforperiodsupplies.org, and on Twitter (@PeriodSupplies), Instagram (@PeriodSupplies) and Facebook (facebook.com/AllianceForPeriodSupplies).

The National Diaper Bank Network would like to thank Kimberly-Clark for their dedication and commitment to supporting disaster relief efforts for families displaced and impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Kimberly-Clark’s donation of nearly 5 million products to NDBN, including Huggies diapers and wipes, Pull-Ups, U by Kotex period supplies, and Poise products will help to support the recovery efforts of NDBN member diaper banks that are working tirelessly in the affected communities of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee as they recover from the devastating impacts of these hurricanes.

A new study conducted by YouGov for the Alliance for Period Supplies revealed that 77% of Americans agree menstrual products should be as freely available as toilet paper and paper towels in public schools and universities. Two in five people who need period supplies have struggled to buy them, a survey by U by Kotex found. The same study found that more than a third of people who menstruate had to miss school, work or a similar activity in the previous year because they did not have the products to manage their periods. No student should have to miss out on their education due to a lack of access to the basic material necessities they require to thrive. Period supplies are school supplies. Without clean diapers: 🔹parents are unable to access child care, which require a daily supply of diapers; and, 🔹parents miss work or school. Diapers are essential for caregivers of young children to work because diapers are essential for child care. #EndDiaperNeed

National Diaper Need Awareness Week 2024 was a successful and inspiring week, and we’re so excited to have been part of the action! Photos in order of appearance: NDBN’s Director of Corporate Relations, Molly Boyd, had a blast visiting Mitzvah Circle in Philadelphia for their volunteer event in partnership with the Baby and Adult Hygiene Products Association. Meanwhile, NDBN’s Digital Communications Manager, Sydney Phillips, joined The Diaper Collective’s ( Family Network Inc ) milestone event—distributing their 1 millionth diaper in Springdale, Arkansas! Our Director of Government Relations, Lacey Gero, was busy jet-setting to celebrate with the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank on their 10th anniversary, then headed to Indiana for Indiana Diaper Bank's Bottoms Up Bash! And our Chief of External Affairs, Troy Moore, headed to the Pennsylvania Capitol to join Healthy Steps Diaper Bank and Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia for their 10th annual Capitol Diaper Drive! Thank you all for making it a week to remember and including us in your celebrations! 🎉
