The RCC 7 Regional Mobility Manager, Donna Marceau, kicked off October as Community Transportation Month with a visit to the Day Café in Nashua on Tuesday, October 1st. Bus tickets, generously donated by Camille Correa, the Nashua Transit Administrator, were raffled off to those who use Nashua’s bus system. The winners are pictured here. Later in the afternoon, one of the winners was photographed waiting for a bus at the Nashua Transit Center. A project of the NH Department of Transportation, Community Transportation Month highlights alternative transportation options in NH, such as bus riding, volunteer driving, and biking. In addition, all are encouraged to register at www.commutesmartnh.org for ride-sharing options, rewards, and prizes for tracking alternative transportation trips.

LYNDEBOROUGH RESIDENTS! The Town of Lyndeborough is updating the Master Plan, last published in 2002, in collaboration with the Nashua Regional Planning Commission. What is a Master Plan? Under NH RSA 674:2, the State of NH requires all municipalities to adopt and regularly update a master plan to serve as a guiding document for local officials in decisions for budgets, ordinances, major purchases, zoning, etc. Now is the time to have your voice heard! Lyndeborough is conducting a town-wide survey to gather input from residents that will be used to guide the Planning Board in writing the new Master Plan. To take the survey, visit: https://lnkd.in/en_KWWrH The Planning Board will also be conducting public meetings for residents who wish to participate in the master planning process. Keep an eye out for more information on the Lyndeborough Town Website.

Could you go a week without driving? For nearly a third of people living in the United States – people with disabilities, young people, seniors, and people who can’t afford cars or gas – this is their every day. This year, Week Without Driving takes place from Monday, September 30th through Sunday, October 6th. The Week Without Driving challenge was created so that those who have the option to drive can learn firsthand about the barriers and challenges that nondrivers face and work with nondrivers to create more accessible communities for all. As an organization dedicated to improving the pedestrian environment, protecting the rights of pedestrians, and encouraging walking as a mode of transportation and for exercise and recreation, we see the Week Without Driving as a critical step toward recognizing and dismantling the barriers to mobility many face daily. We invite you to take this eye-opening experience. Embrace transit, walking, rolling, and biking, and explore how each trip counts towards building a more connected and equitable world. Learn more and register at weekwithoutdriving.org.

On a beautiful Saturday morning, Ryan Friedman attended Hudson's Picnic at the Pond at Musquash Conservation Area and helped present NRPC's new kiosk maps and mobile app to the public. The event was put on by the Hudson Conservation Commission and saw plenty of people come to enjoy the trails and find out more about our maps. The maps cover 6 other properties in addition to Musquash and are available either to view or print online at https://lnkd.in/efAP64a8 or interactively by downloading the ESRI Field Maps app and searching for "Hudson NH Trails".
