But this story isn’t just mine - I’m eager to discover the creative force driving YOUR brands. • I’ll go first. Here’s an image we had made when we were bootstrapping MILI Ammunitions. The location was my in-laws’ family business, an aluminum foundry in Cleveland. We couldn’t afford a high level production, so we used the existing heat lamps from the foundry to create a cool look. This was to highlight our shotgun slugs and buckshot that came to market during Covid when demand for home defense ammunition had skyrocketed overnight. Behind The Brand // @pumafootball x @mancity A look behind the initial idea, creative story, logistical challenge, expedited execution, and epic overnight delivery of Manchester City’s Away Kit Launch in 2022. In collaboration with SoccerBible NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and Space Center Houston the team took the idea of an astronaut kicking a soccer ball around in Houston to reality. The initial idea, sparked during MSM’s Turkey Camp, was pitched the next morning after a conference call to the brand’s leadership over in Germany. Working from a cabin in the woods, MSM’s founder Andy C. Tran told the story of the parallels we see in athletes now and astronauts back in the day of the moon landing, both inspiring generations beyond them to “shoot for the moon”. The concept of Houston, NASA, Texan culture, and the global soccer community all blended together for an ethereal visual experience. Shot back-to-back over the course of a few days, the final footage was rush delivered and edited by Alejandro Salcido Director of Post-Production (MSM DTX) in a hotel room that night for the unveiling the next morning. The result was a launch video that inspired fans across the world and garnered a Finalist award in the “Best Short Form Content of the Year” in Sports Broadcast.
